Yet Maude Apatow – the daughter of actress Leslie Mann and filmmaker Judd Apatow – has embraced nepotism with her upcoming project, casting several stars who have had a leg up in the industry owing to their famous backgrounds.

At the tender age of seven, Maude, who once graced the screen in her father’s comedy film titled “The 40-Year-Old Virgin,” is now poised to take on a new role as a director for the first time with her upcoming project called “Poetic License.

In the upcoming film, Leslie takes on the leading part, portraying Liz – a former therapist and imminent empty nester. An unforeseen source of conflict arises when Liz finds herself at the center of a heated disagreement between two lifelong friends, both vying for her attention.

For the forthcoming movie, the lineup of actors left is like a star-studded roster of Hollywood’s next generation, and astonishingly, more than half of them are connected to well-known celebrities.

Maude Apatow

In 2022, it was Maude, aged 27, who unexpectedly became a topic in the “nepo baby” debate on social media platforms like Twitter, when someone commented in surprise upon discovering that she, the star of Euphoria, had well-known parents.

The popular tweet sparked numerous supporters to post additional instances of nepotism in the entertainment field. In fact, New York magazine even labeled 2022 as the “Year of the Nepotism Kid.

Maude joined several well-known personalities with notable parents who graced the magazine’s cover, with the caption reading: “She Inherited Her Mother’s Eyes and More.

Earlier, the actress admitted feeling disappointed about the negative reaction, sharing with Net-a-Porter, “Initially, it felt disappointing. I make an effort to not let it affect me too much since I am fully aware of the privileged position I’m in.

Many individuals who find themselves in a comparable situation have demonstrated their abilities throughout the years, which means I must persevere and continue producing quality work.

Significantly, Maude gained her initial film roles due to her father’s influence, appearing in his films Knocked Up (2007), Funny People (2009), and This Is 40 (2012) when she was still a child.

The films also starred her mother Leslie and sister Iris.  

Maude went on to star in Euphoria, while Iris appeared on the Netflix series Love. 

In the previous year, Maude joined forces with director Olivia Rosenbloom to establish Jewel Productions, a company dedicated to creating films and TV shows.

The duo’s debut movie is currently being developed, it’s called Poetic License, and they are also planning to make an additional two films.

Cooper, age 22, is quite fresh in the field, as he made his onscreen debut in the 2021 coming-of-age movie “Licorice Pizza,” marking his first acting role.

His leading role was well received by critics and he was nominated for a Golden Globe Award.

In the film, it was Paul Thomas Anderson who took on the directorial role; Anderson is a frequent partner in projects with the late Philip Seymour Hoffman, Cooper’s father.

Paul collaborated on a total of five movies with Philip: “Hard Eight”, “Boogie Nights”, “Magnolia”, “Punch-Drunk Love”, and “The Master”.

Although Cooper likely felt comfortable working with someone familiar with his father, he admitted earlier that his apprehension about joining the industry stemmed from his father’s legacy.

As an ardent admirer, let me confess: I never truly contemplated the prospect before. The thought of venturing into the same realm as my father, a veritable master, had always filled me with a sense of trepidation.

In an unusual sense, it seemed as if I was slipping into my father’s role while working on the Licorice Pizza set.

During that entire filming, it seemed almost as if I were experiencing his emotions firsthand – a peculiar sensation, like being outside myself. I felt an extraordinarily strong bond with my father throughout the production.

Cooper, known for moving in entertainment circles, is rumored to be romantically involved with Nico Parker, his costar in the upcoming film “Poetic License.

Nico Parker  

Daughter of Thandiwe Newton and Ol Parker

Nico, currently in a relationship with Cooper, recently entered the acting world and made her first appearance in the 2019 live-action remake of Disney’s classic film Dumbo.

She’s since secured roles in HBO’s series “The Last of Us” and the main position in the movie “How to Train Your Dragon.

Instead of trying to separate themselves from their well-known parents, Nico openly acknowledges her pride as a “nepotism kid.

Previously, she confessed that she felt ‘ashamed’ about her well-known mother during school days. Now, she acknowledges that being the daughter of a BAFTA-winning actress and a filmmaker husband has brought her numerous benefits.

During an interview with The Times, Nico expressed that nepotism should be recognized and admitted that it can sometimes be frustrating.

She expressed: “I don’t want to undermine myself or my accomplishments, but at the same time, I feel it’s important to acknowledge and thank my parents.

I feel incredibly lucky since they’ve both had remarkable careers, which means I get to enjoy some of their success. In the early stages of my own career, I believe that having well-known parents can open doors and create a certain level of recognition when entering new professional environments.

It’s important for you to admit it. If you don’t, what’s your position then? I can understand why it’s irritating.

Nico later shared that her parents instilled in her the understanding that no one on the set is more significant than her, but she didn’t disclose what specific guidance they offered to her.

As a committed admirer of the craft, I find that when it comes to acting tips, I prefer to hold those insights close to my heart; they feel deeply personal, almost as if we share the same journey.

Jake Bongiovi

Jake pondered: ‘Maintaining a clear sense of self, both personally and professionally, is crucial for achieving success.’

Maisy Stella 

Daughter of MaryLynne and Brad Stella

Twenty-one-year-old Maisy made a significant debut in the musical series Nashville, sharing the screen with her sibling Lennon.

Leveraging their popularity stemming from the television series, the siblings embarked on a tour together, primarily singing cover versions of songs as the country music duo known as Lennon & Maisy.

It wasn’t really unexpected that the pair showed a strong interest in delving into their musical heritage, given they are the daughters of the Canadian country music duo MaryLynne and Brad.

Before creating The Stellas, their parents had previously performed in several different bands. In the year 2009, they reached the fourth position on the CMT series titled “Can You Duet.

Despite Maisie not growing up with much television, she’s now making a name for herself as an actress and has even been nominated for a Critics Choice Award for her performance in “My Old Ass.

Instead of having a television at home, her parents prohibited it, opting to encourage self-made amusement among their children, as they were concerned about the children becoming engrossed in TV shows and disengaged from real-life activities.

Maisy pondered: ‘My sister built a TV using a cardboard box, large enough for me to fit inside, complete with a fake cardboard remote. She would pretend to be a host on a baking show, and whenever she said “Soap opera!”, I would respond as if I were in a drama, exclaiming, “You’ve killed my husband!”‘

‘We would do that for hours. That was our entertainment.’ 

It wasn’t until the girls secured their roles on Nashville that their parents finally gave in and purchased a television for the household.
