I was really excited for The Fantastic Four: First Steps, and it did great at first, hitting the top spot on Disney+. But it didn’t stay there for long! Another Marvel movie coming out in 2025 quickly took over. Honestly, First Steps was the biggest success of the MCU’s 2025 lineup so far, bringing in a solid $521.9 million at the box office.

Critics on Rotten Tomatoes gave The Fantastic Four: First Steps a solid 86% score, while audiences loved it even more, giving it 90% as of today. The movie had a good run in theaters, but it really took off when it started streaming on Disney+ on November 5th, quickly becoming the most-watched movie on the platform worldwide.

Disney+’s most popular movie is now Freakier Friday, having surpassed The Fantastic Four: First Steps. According to data from FlixPatrol, the Fantastic Four movie has dropped to second place. Surprisingly, a short preview of the upcoming Predator movie, Predator: Badlands | A Special Look, completes the top three.

As a total movie buff, I was thrilled to see Lindsay Lohan and Jamie Lee Curtis back as Tess and Anna Coleman in Freaky Friday! It’s been almost 20 years since the original charmed audiences, and now it’s hit Disney+. The really cool part? After just three days, it’s already proven more popular on the platform than The Fantastic Four: First Steps – talk about a comeback!

Marvel Studios’ Fantastic Four: First Steps is still doing well on Disney+, even though it’s no longer the most-watched movie. It quickly became the platform’s top film upon release, and this success, like with Captain America: Brave New World and Thunderbolts before it, suggests a positive trend for Marvel’s 2025 slate of films.

The way FlixPatrol calculates things, based on how often a movie is number one in different countries, means The Fantastic Four: First Steps still has a really good chance of climbing back to the top of Disney+’s most-watched list.
