As a seasoned gamer and ardent fan of sci-fi shows, I’ve seen my fair share of ups and downs in the world of entertainment. The news about Netflix’s latest moves has left me both intrigued and a bit worried.
Netflix is a major player in the realm of streaming content. They aren’t easily swayed by fan petitions or expressions of affection. Their primary goal is to generate profits and solidify their position as the leading force in streaming entertainment. Despite being the top streaming service globally, they find themselves in a significant financial predicament and are working diligently to climb out of it.
As a gamer, I’m always on the lookout for the best streaming content out there. It looks like Netflix is stepping up its game by focusing on live sports – starting with WWE’s Monday Night RAW in 2025, exclusively on their platform. Who knows what other live events they might add down the line? With Netflix aiming to be a one-stop destination for all entertainment, I can see them venturing into diverse programming options in the future that break away from traditional TV shows and movies.
Discussions, music concerts, and similar content could potentially be featured on this platform in the future. If it contributes to their expansion and financial success, it’s something they might consider offering.
Anything deemed too costly relative to its value is likely to be discontinued. They aren’t running a charity, but rather a business. Star Trek: Prodigy is one of the shows they aim to generate profit from. It’s an excellent show with a dedicated fanbase and strong viewership on Paramount+.
Even though a program might be well-liked, it may struggle if it costs more to produce than it earns. Consequently, its future remains uncertain. Is Prodigy attracting enough viewers to justify its continuation? At this point, we’re not completely certain, but some fans are expressing worry.
A band of enthusiastic Prodigy followers devised a creative strategy to catch Netflix’s eye by executing an aerial demonstration. Their fan base arranged for a plane to soar over Netflix’s Hollywood headquarters for more than an hour, displaying a banner that implored Netflix to revive the animated series.
We aren’t certain if our efforts in persuading them were successful, nor can we confirm if they even noticed the plane, but we are thankful for the fans for their attempts. Prodigy should have a robust five-season run. It should reach 100 episodes. It deserves a larger and more passionate fanbase than it currently has.
Hopefully Netflix agrees, but we’re not holding our breath.
