The End of Los Ratones: Caedrel confirms closure of the project

LEC Versus featuring Los Ratones has concluded. Caedrel and the team members shared heartfelt farewell messages with their fans.

In 2024, Marc “Caedrel” Robert Lamont created Los Ratones, a remarkably different team in League of Legends (LoL). After being eliminated from the LEC Versus competition, Caedrel announced the end of the Los Ratones project.

This is a project I’ll never forget. I’m incredibly proud of everyone involved.

The End of Los Ratones

Caedrel announced in a recent video that the Los Ratones project is finished. He shared his thoughts on the team’s performance in LEC Versus, noting how close they were to making the playoffs. He expressed immense pride in the team, emphasizing that the project wouldn’t have been possible without them.

He expressed his pride in the team, noting that even though their first week in LEC Versus wasn’t ideal, they still worked hard to compete for a playoff spot. He felt all the players had significantly improved and demonstrated their skills during the experience.

Caedrel responded to the recent criticism by saying it wasn’t necessary. He explained they had the opportunity to win their last match, but ultimately fell short, taking full responsibility for the loss. He admitted they were on the verge of victory but lost control, leading to their defeat.

The streamer shared how upset the team was when the project ended, saying it was difficult to describe everything they’d experienced over the past few weeks. He also mentioned that Red Bull is planning to release a documentary featuring behind-the-scenes footage, though a release date hasn’t been announced yet.

All good things come to an end, and Caedrel believes this project is likely finished. While a full return isn’t expected, he suggests the team, known as “the Avengers,” might come together again for smaller events like exhibition matches, though this isn’t certain. He finished by saying, “I’ll always remember this project, and I’m very proud of everyone who was a part of it.”

We wouldn’t be who we are without our amazing fans. Thank you all for making this project a reality!

The future of the players

The players are now figuring out their next career moves. Simon “Baus” Hofverberg recently announced he’s retiring from professional play to focus on streaming. The rest of the team hasn’t made any announcements about their plans yet.

Thanks to all the fans

The video concluded with each player sharing a message for their fans. Carl Martin “Rekkles” Larsson called the experience one of the highlights of his career. He explained that “Los Ratones” focused on creating a positive environment, allowing him to spend more time with family, consistently attend therapy, and feel much less stressed than he had previously.

Juš “Crownie” Marušič, the team’s main damage dealer, shared that playing with Los Ratones was the best experience of his career. He was visibly emotional, saying the team was incredibly kind and supportive, and that they’d exceeded expectations. Baus also expressed his gratitude to Caedrel and his teammates, saying he was happy to have formed friendships with them despite the team disbanding.

Tim “Nemesis” Lipovšek shared that he was surprised by how much he enjoyed working on the project, finding it even more rewarding than competing with top teams. He expressed his gratitude to everyone involved and to the fans for their incredible support and generous gifts, jokingly saying he might need to buy new clothes to fit everything he received.

Veljko Čamdžić, known as Velja, highlighted how crucial the fans were to the team’s success, saying every trophy they won was thanks to their support. He stated, “We wouldn’t be Los Ratones without you. You’ve made this team possible, and we’re incredibly grateful for everything.”

You know, even though Jakob “YamatoCannon” Mebdi was only with the team for a short time, he really got how much passion everyone had for this project. He actually said he could feel that love even before he joined! He told me it was the most fun thing to watch, and he was laughing when he said it. It’s just amazing to see how dedicated everyone is.

Los Ratones dominated the EMEA scene in 2025, winning both the Spring and Summer tournaments. They’ve also proven their skill within the Northern League of Legends Championship, claiming victory three times. We wish the entire team all the best in what comes next.
