So, Bethesda’s finally hinting that they might fix some of the issues with Oblivion Remastered! The game did really well when it came out last year – it sold like crazy. But honestly, a lot of us ran into bugs and performance problems that made it frustrating to play sometimes. We’ve been asking them for fixes ever since, and it sounds like they might actually be working on a patch for all platforms. It’s not a guarantee yet, but it’s definitely a good sign!
Bethesda told YouTuber MrMattyPlays that the team working on The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion Remastered is currently focused on releasing the game on the Nintendo Switch 2, planned for August 11th. While working on this version, they’ve made some improvements they’d like to also bring to the PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, and PC versions. Bethesda hasn’t promised this will happen, but it seems they are considering it, likely in response to feedback from players.

It’s been a surprisingly long time since The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion Remastered was last updated – the most recent patch released in July 2025. That means over a year has passed without any changes or improvements to the game. It’s unusual to see Bethesda largely ignore Oblivion Remastered, considering how well it originally performed.
If the ongoing issues with The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion Remastered aren’t fixed quickly, they might never be resolved. Bethesda has announced it’s working on remasters of Fallout 3 and Fallout: New Vegas, and it’s likely the same team is handling all these remasters. This means Bethesda could get too busy with the Fallout projects to go back and fix the problems in Oblivion Remastered.
Players of The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion Remastered have a reason to be optimistic about a possible update coming in the near future. We’ll share any news about that here on ComicBook as soon as it’s available.
