A dedicated modding team is making it possible to play The Elder Scrolls 4: Oblivion Remastered with friends! The remastered version of Bethesda’s beloved RPG was released unexpectedly last year and received a lot of positive feedback, especially from players excited to revisit the world of Cyrodiil.

The team at ReadyCode, known for their modding work, recently announced they plan to launch a multiplayer mod for Oblivion Remastered in the second quarter of 2026, according to Dark Side of Gaming. This mod will let players create and manage their own servers, allowing for both cooperative campaigns and player-versus-player arena combat.

While these updates aren’t very encouraging, they’re also unclear – it’s difficult to tell if we’ll be waiting just another year or potentially ten years for the game.

Actually, the delay isn’t so bad – it gives us more time to enjoy some of the great games from the past, and what’s more fun than playing them with friends, or even new people you meet online? It would be great to play almost any kind of multiplayer Oblivion. Experiencing the main story with friends would be a fun and unpredictable adventure in Cyrodiil. Plus, it would be cool to show off powerful and creative character builds in competitive player-versus-player battles.
