A dedicated modding team is making it possible to play The Elder Scrolls 4: Oblivion Remastered with friends! The remastered version of Bethesda’s beloved RPG was released unexpectedly last year and received a lot of positive feedback, especially from players excited to revisit the world of Cyrodiil.
The team at ReadyCode, known for their modding work, recently announced they plan to launch a multiplayer mod for Oblivion Remastered in the second quarter of 2026, according to Dark Side of Gaming. This mod will let players create and manage their own servers, allowing for both cooperative campaigns and player-versus-player arena combat.
Who Needs The Elder Scrolls 6?
Time to revisit the classics
This news arrives during a still-uncertain period for fans of The Elder Scrolls, who are eagerly waiting for any information about the next game, The Elder Scrolls 6. Currently, the image shown above, from a brief teaser released in 2018, remains the only significant update we’ve received about the game.
Todd Howard, the director at Bethesda, recently said that The Elder Scrolls 6 is still quite a ways off. This echoes similar comments made back in 2019 by Matt Firor, the founder of ZeniMax Online Studios (according to GameSpot). While these updates aren’t very encouraging, they’re also unclear – it’s difficult to tell if we’ll be waiting just another year or potentially ten years for the game.
Actually, the delay isn’t so bad – it gives us more time to enjoy some of the great games from the past, and what’s more fun than playing them with friends, or even new people you meet online? The idea of playing Oblivion Remastered with others sounds fantastic, and it’s great that this feature is being added to the game we already know and love.
Oblivion With Friends Sounds Like A Blast
Better with ReadyM

It would be great to play almost any kind of multiplayer Oblivion. Experiencing the main story with friends would be a fun and unpredictable adventure in Cyrodiil. Plus, it would be cool to show off powerful and creative character builds in competitive player-versus-player battles.
What I really love about ReadyCode’s Oblivion mod is how much it lets you do! Thanks to their ReadyM multiplayer framework, you can not only play the whole game with friends, but you can also set up your own servers. Imagine playing through the story together, huge player-versus-player battles, or even joining roleplaying servers with totally custom rules and quests – it’s incredible!
Ultimately, the success of this relies on the community working together to create it. ReadyCode offers the necessary tools, but it will take effort to set everything up. However, given the creativity and dedication of Elder Scrolls fans, I wouldn’t be surprised to see them build a thriving and varied multiplayer experience, even in a game not originally intended for it.
If you’re tired of waiting for news about The Elder Scrolls 6, or simply want to experience a classic game with a fresh twist, you should watch for the multiplayer mod for The Elder Scrolls 4: Oblivion Remastered.
