The Elden Ring Movie Needs To Include These 10 Bosses

The upcoming Elden Ring movie, produced by A24 Films and directed by Alex Garland, is officially scheduled for release in March 2028. With leaked set photos appearing recently, fans are more excited than ever. While players are cautiously hopeful about seeing the world of the Lands Between adapted for the screen, initial glimpses suggest the movie is shaping up well.

Fans of Elden Ring have only seen a few characters who might appear in the upcoming film, like the Dung Eater and Queen Marika. However, it’s still unclear which bosses will be included. Given the game has so many impressive bosses, the filmmakers will probably focus on those that are most important to the story.

Since we don’t yet know the details of the film’s plot or how it connects to the original Elden Ring story, it’s useful to think about which bosses would be most important to include in a movie adaptation.

10. Margit, The Fell Omen

Okay, so it looks like Margit might actually be in the movie! There was a leaked set photo of a kid with horns that look just like Margit’s Omen horns. And honestly, it would make a ton of sense for him to be there. It would set up how he eventually becomes Morgott, you know? Morgott’s a pretty tragic character – basically a demigod the Golden Order hates, but he’s still totally devoted to them. Seeing Margit first would be a perfect way to hint at that whole story arc.

Margit consistently challenges and fights the player character, convinced they don’t deserve to wield the Elden Ring. He’d be a great villain to reappear throughout the movie, constantly opposing their progress.

9. Godrick The Grafted

Godrick is a natural fit for the movie, largely because he’s one of the most visually impressive bosses in the game. Seeing his dragon arm fire attack on a huge IMAX screen with top-notch special effects would be incredible.

Godrick could be crucial for helping viewers understand the Shardbearers and enriching the film’s backstory by illustrating the decline of the demigods – if the film follows the same timeline as the game. He’s also the first significant boss players encounter in the Lands Between, and is well-known for setting the standard for the game’s challenging boss fights.

8. Rennala, Queen of the Full Moon

Most players will eventually find their way to Raya Lucaria Academy in Elden Ring, and that means encountering Renalla, Queen of the Full Moon. Beyond the challenging enemies like Fingercreepers and invisible sorcerers, the area is visually stunning and makes for great screenshots.

It’s hard to say how ambitious Alex Garland is being with this story. We don’t know how much he’ll draw from the game’s cutscenes, or how faithful the adaptation will be to the original storyline.

7. Starscourge Radahn

If bosses from Elden Ring appear in a movie, Starscourge Radahn is the most likely candidate. He’s a popular boss with a memorable fight and a crucial role in the game’s overall story. Defeating Radahn is a key moment for players as they progress through the Lands Between.

Also: big boss on tiny horse equals pure cinema.

Because Garland is a huge fan of Elden Ring and has spent thousands of hours playing it, it’s likely that the character Radahn will appear in the movie, even if just for a short scene – or perhaps in a more significant role.

6. Fire Giant

I might be getting ahead of myself, but a live-action version of the Fire Giant boss fight in the Elden Ring movie could be absolutely stunning. While the exact budget isn’t known, reports indicate it’s over $100 million, making it A24’s biggest and most expensive film to date.

If that’s true, it makes you wonder what the developers will prioritize next. They might be planning a large and challenging boss fight, perhaps something on the scale of the Fire Giant, if they have some impressive content prepared during the finishing stages of development.

5. Malenia, Blade Of Miquella

Malenia would be a compelling character for a film adaptation. She could act as an ally to the main character, depending on the story’s direction. She’s also a great way to introduce important elements like Scarlet Rot and the Empyreans, if the film delves into those topics.

Malenia isn’t a huge, complicated creature, which makes her a more practical choice for a live-action adaptation. She’s also incredibly popular – many players, including Garland, have fought her countless times. The bigger question now is whether we’ll see a nod to the famous player known as ‘Let Me Solo Her’.

4. Rykard, Lord Of Blasphemy

Rykard is essentially a terrifying, demonic serpent, and while that could be really exciting for viewers, his design is more complex than Malenia’s. Malenia’s human-like form would be simpler to bring to life on screen, but making Rykard look believable might be a bigger hurdle.

It would be amazing to see a player character fight the Lord of Blasphemy in the lava-filled depths of Volcano Manor. We’ll know Garland is a true fan if their character uses the famous spear during that battle.

3. Maliketh, The Black Blade

I really hope Maliketh appears as a boss in the Elden Ring movie! Beyond his importance to the game’s story – he’s central to the introduction of the Rune of Death, which allows players to defeat Gods and overcome immortality – he also has a fantastic and memorable design.

Maliketh played a key role in the Night of Black Knives, a pivotal event that helps explain the world’s shattering and the reason for the Tarnished’s quest. Footage from the upcoming film confirms it will show events before the Shattering, and leaked images reveal Queen Marika with a full braid – a visual cue indicating this earlier time period.

2. Godfrey, First Elden Lord & Hoarah Loux, Warrior

Godfrey, along with his monstrous alter ego Hoarah Loux, is one of the final bosses in the game and is often remembered as a particularly challenging and impressive fight by players who reached that point.

Only 40% of Steam players have managed to beat Hoarah Loux, meaning a large number of gamers haven’t reached the final boss even four years after the game came out. This creates a unique chance for Garland to offer players an experience they wouldn’t normally get at the end of the game.

1. Radagon Of The Golden Order & The Elden Beast

If the upcoming Elden Ring movie follows the game’s story, we can expect to see Radagon and the Elden Beast appear before the movie ends. Since Marika is confirmed to be in the film, it’s likely her other form, Radagon, will also show up. And if the movie includes epic boss battles, the Elden Beast is a strong contender to be one of them.

It’s difficult to predict which bosses will appear in the Elden Ring movie until we know more about the story. Fans are hoping to see their favorite bosses brought to life on screen when the movie comes out in March 2028.
