The most significant change is the introduction of a new map featuring expansive bodies of water, but that’s not all – there’s also an adjustment to the Madstone mechanic. With this change, you now have the ability to craft neutral items tailored to your gameplay style and monitor your teammates’ progress in doing so as well.

What is Madstone in Dota 2?

In the world of Dota 2, a fresh asset called Madstone has been introduced. This tool allows you to create Neutral items tailored specifically to your gameplay strategy. By adjusting your Neutral item according to the current situation of the match, you can customize it to suit your needs.

In Dota 2, the Madstone consists of two components: Artifacts and Enchantments. Players can utilize this artifact to create custom neutral items for themselves. The Artifact bestows new skills onto your item, while the Enchantment provides it with an additional passive benefit or attribute boost.

How to Get Madstone

To obtain a Madstone, you can collect neutral items through farming. Completely clearing a neutral camp awards you with three Madstones – two for your own inventory and one for a randomly selected ally. Additionally, by clicking on the craft button next to your item inventory, you’ll be able to see what other teammates are working on crafting neutral items and what materials they might require to finish their crafting process.

Here are the timings when the various tiers of neutral items are available in game:

  1. Tier 1: 2.30 min +
  2. Tier 2: 7.30 min +
  3. Tier 3: 12.30 min +
  4. Tier 4: 17.30 min +
  5. Tier 5: 30.00 min +

In each turn, you need to defeat neutral monster camps. Defeating these monsters rewards you with two Madstones and one additional Madstone for a randomly selected teammate. Previously, these were simply referred to as neutral items.

How to craft new items using Madstone in Dota 2?

After obtaining the Madstone, you’ll have the option to select one enchantment and one artifact. The enchantment will provide a passive effect to your neutral item, while the artifact will grant new capabilities. Additionally, you can monitor the progress of your teammates’ neutral items in the Neutral Items section. This area not only allows you to keep track of their progress but also helps you decide which artifacts to pick and which enchantments could be advantageous for your current game.

The recent update to the map in the game has introduced substantial modifications, fundamentally altering how you engage with the gameplay. For instance, there are now swift-flowing rivers that enable players to return to their base at a faster pace. Additionally, changes have been made to the functioning of tormentors and wisdom runes. Notably, Roshan is now located within the river, leading to an increase in confrontations and entertainment as teams aim to capitalize on their edge against opponents.
