An incredibly exciting finale lies ahead at the Dota 2 competition during the Esports World Cup 2025, as Team Spirit goes head-to-head against Team Falcons in a highly anticipated showdown.
Today marks the end of a lengthy Dota 2 journey at the Esports World Cup, with the final two teams now determined to face off in the grand finals. The semi-finals took place on day nine, resulting in two more teams being eliminated from contention for the title. But fear not for those who lost today, as a third-place playoff has been arranged. This means that even though a team’s hopes may have been dashed today, they still have an opportunity to earn valuable points in the EWC club rankings.
An epic Esports World Cup Grand Final awaits

Today at the Esports World Cup Dota 2 tournament, I found myself watching two intense semi-final matches that determined the grand finalists. In the first game, Team Spirit and PARIVISION went head-to-head in a nail-biting contest. Although Team Spirit dominated game one, it seemed like PV was gearing up for a comeback in game two. But as usual when we’re playing from behind, we thrived and managed to stage an incredible turnaround. In the end, we pulled off a perfect comeback with a thrilling team fight to secure a 2-0 victory over PV.
By clinching the win, Spirit secured a place as the initial finalist in the Dota 2 Grand Final of the Esports World Cup. Regrettably, PV’s remarkable performance throughout the tournament met its conclusion, and they now face off for the third/fourth place playoff.
In the second semifinal matchup, Tundra Esports and Team Falcons went head-to-head in a nail-biting series. An intriguing glitch in game one saw Remco “Crystallis” Arets’ Monkey King stuck on top of Mars Arena, causing them to lose. However, it was game two that truly stole the show. Despite facing a substantial deficit, Falcons started their comeback. The match lasted an impressive 80 minutes before Falcons finally clinched victory. Although Tundra had several chances to secure a win, Falcons proved stronger throughout every crucial moment.
One final day of Dota 2 at EWC 2025
After the dust had settled, the Dota 2 grand final at the Esports World Cup was established. Team Spirit and Team Falcons were all set to battle it out in a best-of-five series to decide this year’s winner. Meanwhile, Tundra and PV also had their chance to shine one last time on stage as they prepared to face off for third place.
Spirit has an opportunity to reclaim the title they held at the 2023 Riyadh Masters. On the other hand, Falcons, who have had a challenging year thus far, will be aiming for significant progress before The International 2025. With only one day left of Dota 2 action during EWC 2025, we’ll soon find out who our new champion will be on July 19.
