The Creep Tapes episode 2: Elliot gets baited by bird-watching

As a seasoned gamer and horror enthusiast with over two decades of immersion in the genre, I must say that The Creep Tapes has managed to tap into my deepest fears and keep me on the edge of my seat. In episode 2, Peachfuzz’s calculated yet unhinged approach to luring unsuspecting victims is both chilling and intriguing.

In the second installment of “The Creep Tapes“, Peachfuzz adopts a fresh strategy, both in approach and appearance. Rather than fabricating an online job listing for a filmmaker, this time he opts for a more intriguing method. He lures a bird-watcher using a post that supposedly reveals the spotting coordinates for the elusive American avocet. When Elliot (David Nordstrom) arrives at the scene, he discovers an open parachute and an upright sneaker, giving the impression of a possible hidden body underneath.

For some time, Peachfuzz has been biding his time, concealed close by, preparing to pounce on his chosen victim. Pretending to be a distressed skydiving enthusiast who experienced a parachute failure, he devised an online advertisement to entice an unwary birdwatcher into a trap. The mere thought of this individual orchestrating such a scheme and carefully setting the stage only to lie in wait underscores the theatrical and cold-blooded nature of the murderer. Indeed, it’s a chilling depiction of manipulation and calculated cruelty.

As soon as Elliot was spotted with a camera, Peachfuzz got excited about the possibility of being filmed for a testimonial, potentially leading to a lawsuit against the skydiving company that had failed him. However, this story didn’t pan out as planned and instead, Peachfuzz found himself drawn into Elliot’s interest in spotting unique birds, particularly the avocet.

Instead of asking Elliot if he ever considers tricking or trapping his birds, or even bringing them home as pets, he states that he doesn’t, since it’s considered unethical for bird enthusiasts due to the potential harm it might cause the animals.

As the story progresses, Peachfuzz becomes more unsettling by discussing his growing fixation on Elliot and comparing himself to a unique avian creature. Ironically, Elliot is searching for this special bird, not realizing that it’s actually him all along!

Next, he hops into Elliot’s vehicle, cruising along the street before pulling over and exiting. From afar, he and Elliot engage in a spat until eventually, Peachfuzz returns and faces off with Elliot. It turns out that Elliot has been dishonest. There’s a birdseed bag in his car marked as “attractant.

In my world of fascination, as the allure of our shared experience started to fade, an unexpected moment presented itself when a genuine bird took flight in the horizon. I presented Elliot with a quandary: should he follow that enchanting bird or remain with me, the familiar companion. Naturally, curiosity got the better of him and he chose the real bird. With a mischievous grin, I couldn’t help but exclaim, “I lured you in!” Before darting after him, net in hand, eventually capturing Elliot inside a plastic bag, leading to his untimely demise due to suffocation.
