‘The Copenhagen Test’ Is Due to Hit Peacock on December 27, 2025
The Copenhagen Test appears to be a thrilling, action-packed movie that will likely appeal to a wide audience. It provides another opportunity for Simu Liu to demonstrate his leading man potential, building on his success in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, and allows Melissa Barrera to step outside of the recent controversy surrounding the Scream films.
Simu Liu recently told MovieWeb that his new sci-fi action show is a thrilling and unique mix of espionage and the adventurous spirit of Star Trek.
Okay, so this movie is a spy thriller with a sci-fi twist, but it’s surprisingly grounded. It takes place just a few moments in the future – think technology we basically have now – with one clever addition. There’s a threat out there using nanotechnology. If someone ingests it, they essentially become a Wi-Fi signal, broadcasting everything they witness and hear. It’s a really unsettling concept and drives the whole plot!
That might sound far-fetched, like something from Star Trek, but similar technology actually exists today. It’s not quite nanotechnology, but we were inspired by that idea and wanted to incorporate it into a world of spies and secret missions. It’s a really exciting project, and Melissa is amazing in it – I can’t wait for people to see it.
