The Conjuring gets new UK streaming home

The Conjuring has found a new streaming home in the UK.

In the UK and Ireland, streaming platform Netflix has recently made available for viewing the 2013 horror film “The Conjuring 2” and its 2016 sequel.

Under the guidance of director James Wan, The Conjuring features Patrick Wilson and Vera Farmiga portraying real-life paranormal researchers Ed and Lorraine Warren. In this chilling tale, they lend their expertise to a distressed family residing in a farmhouse that harbors sinister spirits.

In the next installment of the movie, the characters head to England to help out the Hodgson family, who are dealing with ghostly disturbances at their local council house in Enfield during the year 1977.

In 2021, there was a sequel titled “The Conjuring: The Devil Made Me Do It.” This film centers around Ed and Lorraine as they delve into the case of Arne Cheyenne Johnson, who alleged that he was possessed by demons at the time he fatally attacked his landlord.

Additionally, Wilson and Farmiga will once again take on their characters for the fourth installment of “The Conjuring” series, due to hit theaters in September.

In this project, Michael Chaves serves as the director, with the screenplay penned by David Leslie Johnson-McGoldrick, who collaborated on the script for The Conjuring 3 along with its franchise originator, James Wan. Wan will take on the role of producer alongside Peter Safran.

For now, particular aspects of the plot remain secret, but earlier suggestions by Wan indicate that the movie will conclude the tale of Ed and Lorraine Warren.

Regarding the advancements of the upcoming release in 2023, he shared that they are currently immersed in its development. The Conjuring series holds a special significance for us.

We aim to proceed carefully to ensure accuracy and to capture the emotional essence of the Warren tales. As we approach the conclusion, we want to be certain that the story we tell is fitting and authentic.

The Conjuring 4 is released in cinemas on September 5, 2025.
