According to the film’s director, Michael Chaves, the upcoming movie titled The Conjuring: Last Rites is expected to be “more ominous” or “more foreboding” compared to its predecessors.
It’s no secret that the last part of the series was expected to be the longest, but it appears that “Last Rites” won’t shy away from delivering frightening moments as well.
When speaking with SFX magazine, Chaves admitted that marketing often employs extreme terms for movies in this genre, but he truly finds this particular film genuinely terrifying.
In simpler terms, a dramatic climax with challenging and intense circumstances is necessary for a satisfying resolution. We won’t hold back, we’ll delve deeply into the situation without any reservations.
In relation to the introduction, prepare yourselves, fans, as Chaves describes the initial scene as “frightening,” promising an unexpected jolt for moviegoers.

Since we know this is the final part, we can approach it without mercy. The very beginning will surprise viewers,” he clarified.
“It really is a terrifying sequence and a real gut punch.”

Alright, fellow gaming buddies! Hear me out – it’s just like when you know that epic quest is about to wrap up in your favorite RPG game. Vera Farmiga and Patrick Wilson, our beloved paranormal investigators Lorraine and Ed Warren, are back for one last hurrah! Guess what? That means we’re heading into the climactic battle (or movie, if you will) – it looks like their story is coming to an end in this fourth film. So buckle up, folks! Let’s see how they’ll face off against the supernatural one last time!
Chaves expressed that it’s often best to leave on a positive note; in fact, he would have continued creating Conjuring movies for as long as there is time.
Or simply:
Chaves suggested that ending on a high note is usually best, and he’d gladly make more Conjuring films forever if given the chance.

Conclusions can be challenging. I genuinely enjoy collaborating with everyone in this project, but it seemed like we had all reached a point where it made sense to wrap things up while we’re still on top. He emphasized this as well. [This is referring to the creator James Wan and the producers at New Line Cinema.]
“Your goal is to reach the summit without any missteps. You wish to avoid being the person who causes a business to fail. This was an uncommon chance to decide when and how to bring the final act of the story to a close.

In the upcoming investigation, Lorraine and Ed are anticipated to leave no stone unturned, as they delve into a reportedly haunted house in Pennsylvania. This chilling tale is inspired by the genuine Smurl haunting events.
The pair stumbles upon something greater than expected as their long-lost demonic adversary resurfaces, seeking revenge.
The Conjuring: Last Rites haunts cinemas from 5 September.
