The Conjuring 4 has started filming in the UK
As a seasoned gamer of horror movies, I can confidently say that the imminent arrival of The Conjuring 4, or as I like to call it, “The Final Scream-ing,” has sent shivers down my spine with anticipation. With its roots deeply entrenched in real-life paranormal investigations and a rich history of chilling storytelling, this franchise has consistently delivered bone-chilling experiences that have left me sleepless nights for days on end.
The Conjuring 4 has received an exciting update.
As reported by Screen Daily, the fourth installment of the horror series has now begun filming in the United Kingdom.
Titled “The Conjuring: Last Rites,” this upcoming movie, directed by Michael Chaves, brings back actors Patrick Wilson and Vera Farmiga to reprise their roles as the paranormal investigators Ed and Lorraine Warren.
However, specific plot details are being kept under wraps for the time being.
It is whispered that the upcoming movie, “Last Rites,” marks the conclusion of the series. This film serves as a continuation from the 2013 debut film, “The Conjuring,” its sequel from 2016, “The Conjuring 2,” and the 2021 release, “The Conjuring: The Devil Made Me Do It.” All of these films were directed by James Wan, who is also at the helm for this final installment.
David Leslie Johnson-McGoldrick, a collaborator on “The Conjuring 3” alongside its originator James Wan, has penned the screenplay for the upcoming film.
Wan previously hinted that Last Rites could tie up Ed and Lorraine Warren’s story.
Last year, I was talking about the movie’s development, and here’s what I shared: “I’ve been deeply engrossed in bringing the Conjuring universe to life. We hold these films close to our hearts, so every step we take is carefully considered.
We’d prefer to proceed cautiously, ensuring that each Warren tale we share is authentic and emotionally resonant. As we progress and possibly conclude, we aim to make certain we’re telling the right story in the right way.
Yet, it’s possible that this may not mark the final chapter for the vast Conjuring universe, as it has grown to encompass numerous spin-offs.
These include Annabelle, Annabelle: Creation, Annabelle Comes Home, The Nun and The Nun II.
Last year’s release of “The Nun II” featured a cameo appearance by the Warrens, as they made a brief appearance in the end credits.
The Conjuring 4 is set to release in cinemas on September 5, 2025.
