- Get a clear idea of the Gacha system and how to take full advantage of it!
- If you make 120 pulls on a single featured banner without obtaining the specific featured 6-Star, the 120th pull will guarantee that rate-up Operator.
- If you accumulate around 240 pulls on a limited banner, Arknights: Endfield gives you additional benefits.
So, Arknights: Endfield is basically a new game from the creators of Arknights, the tower defense game I already love. This one’s a bit different though – it’s a free-to-play action RPG, but with a cool twist: you also build and manage a factory! I’m still getting the hang of things as a new ‘Endministrator’, and I’ve been trying to figure out how the operator recruitment system – the ‘gacha’ – works. This complete guide has been a lifesaver for understanding how to get the operators I want in Arknights: Endfield.
What is the gacha system in Arknights: Endfield
In Arknights: Endfield, the gacha system is how you get new characters (Operators) and items to improve them, but it’s better to spend your resources carefully than to try and pull constantly. You can definitely make progress in the game without spending a lot right away.
New players can easily progress through the beginning of the game and discover its world using the initial characters provided. Taking your time and being patient is key to a smooth start.
Gacha banners typically switch between regular and special types. Regular banners offer a broad range of characters, while special banners make it easier to obtain certain characters.
Special banners often feature characters that won’t be available again for a while. Before you try to get them, be sure to check the banner details! Each one has different rules about how likely you are to get the character you want, and how the system works to guarantee you a rare character after a certain number of tries.
The Rates and Pity in the banners for Arknights: Endfield
Endfield stands out from other mobile gacha games because it’s designed to feel fair. It clearly shows the odds for getting characters and includes multiple layers of ‘pity’ – systems that guarantee rewards if you play consistently. You use a currency called Oroberyl to get new characters: each single pull costs 500 Oroberyl, and a 10-pull bundle costs 5,000 Oroberyl.
Characters come in different rarities: the rarest (6-Star) appear around 0.8% of the time, 5-Star characters appear about 8% of the time, and the most common (4-Star) appear roughly 91.2% of the time. These rates are before any pity systems are factored in.
The game’s summoning system guarantees you’ll get a powerful 5-Star character after every 10 tries, ensuring you always receive something valuable. On top of that, there’s a ‘soft pity’ system: if you haven’t gotten a rare 6-Star character after about 65 pulls, your chances of getting one increase with each additional try.
If you haven’t gotten a 6-Star character after 80 tries, the game guarantees you’ll get one. However, there’s a 50% chance it will be the specific, limited character featured on the banner, and a 50% chance it will be a different 6-Star character.
The Banner System in Arknights: Endfield
A key part of Endfield’s system is its ‘pity’ system for limited-time banners. If you try to get a specific 6-Star character on a banner 120 times without success, your 120th attempt is guaranteed to give you that character.
This system encourages saving your resources for full guarantees instead of spending them immediately, which significantly improves your chances of getting the characters you desire. However, the 120-pull guarantee doesn’t continue to future events – your progress resets each time a banner ends.
Beyond the standard guarantees, Endfield also rewards players for doing a lot of pulls on limited-time banners. Specifically, if you do about 240 pulls, you’ll get extra tokens for the featured character, helping you get more copies to improve them.
Okay, so here’s a cool thing they’ve added to most limited-time banners now. After you do about 60 pulls, you unlock something called a Headhunting Dossier. It basically gives you a free 10-pull on the next limited banner, which is awesome! It doesn’t affect your pity counter, so it’s just extra value on top of everything else.
Other Banners and Gacha System in Arknights: Endfield
Different types of banners exist, each with slightly different rules. The Beginner banner, also known as New Horizons, is designed to give new players a strong start. It typically offers a cheaper price for multiple pulls and guarantees you’ll get at least one 6-Star Operator within around 40 pulls. Completing the banner also rewards you with a choice of a 6-Star weapon.
The Standard Banner works similarly to limited-time banners in terms of guaranteeing a rare character. However, instead of a boosted rate for a specific character, it takes 300 pulls to earn a 6-Star Selector. This selector lets you choose any standard 6-Star character, making it a long-term goal for players.
Weapon banners are known as Arsenal Issue or Arsenal Exchange. They use a special currency called Arsenal Tickets, which you primarily get by wishing for new characters.
These banners have increased chances of getting powerful weapons, like around a 4% chance for the rarest 6-Star weapons. They also guarantee a 6-Star weapon within 40 tries and featured weapons within about 80 tries. However, it’s important to remember that your progress towards that guarantee resets each time a new weapon banner appears, so you start counting pulls from zero again.
Tips and Recommendations for the gacha system and banners
- Save for at least 120 pulls before investing in a limited banner you care about. Because of the 50/50 and featured guarantee rules, pulling early and stopping can leave you short of your goals and out of resources.
- Take advantage of the Beginner banner fully, as it gives a free 6-Star and weapons that can carry you far into early play.
- Always track your pull count and plan across banner rotations so you can utilize carry-over pity (like the 80-pull count) efficiently without losing the featured guarantee once a banner ends.
- Resist spending pull currency on the Standard banner too early; it’s usually better to focus on featured banners that provide rate-ups unless you need a specific standard Operator.
Final Thoughts
I suggest choosing a character you like playing, instead of one that’s considered the most powerful or popular. Don’t worry too much about making the ‘wrong’ choice – all the options are good, and you won’t ruin your account no matter which one you pick.
