The Chase’s Mark Labbett shares updates following split from girlfriend
As a gamer with a penchant for trivia shows and a soft spot for The Chase, I’ve always found Mark Labbett to be an intriguing figure. His recent interview about his personal life after parting ways with Hayley Palmer has given me a newfound appreciation for the man behind the quizmaster.
Mark Labbett, famously known from “The Chase”, has given an insight into his life following his separation with partner and television host, Hayley Palmer.
The couple recently parted ways after a year of dating, and the star has now explained that he called it off as he felt he “got old”.
He shared with The Sun that Hayley is an exceptional woman whom he had the good fortune of dating for a year. Additionally, as he mentioned before, it was him who grew older during this period.
Mark mentioned that “there hasn’t been anyone like Hayley since then,” and though he doesn’t entirely dismiss the possibility of a future companion, he definitely isn’t actively seeking one.
He humorously refers to himself as a solitary individual, a man who has reached a particular stage in life and is equally comfortable whether single or in a relationship, yet he cherishes his alone time deeply.
It seems deeply rooted, and I believe it can be traced back to our days as hunter-gatherers when individuals often spent considerable amounts of time alone. It’s important to note that this isn’t exclusive to men; there are those who genuinely enjoy their solitude.
Here, I have a close-knit circle of friends with whom we often socialize. Yet, this summer has been particularly special to me as I’ve enjoyed spending it peacefully and quietly at home.
Additionally, Mark expressed that he is “very content being single,” suggesting a stage in life where he finds comfort, much like settling into a favorite armchair with slippers on, currently enjoying his home in his pajamas and leisurely activities.
I’ve become a bit more settled, or comfortable in my current situation. Despite not appearing so, I’m actually an older individual. I’m quite happy pursuing my own interests.
Mark was previously married to wife Katie for six years, before the couple split in 2020.
