The Chase star Anne Hegerty reveals how she managed to lose 30lbs without using Ozempic

Anne Hegerty has revealed she shed 30lbs without doing ‘anything deliberate’.

The Chase star, 67, stated firmly that she has never used Ozempic or any similar weight loss injection. She explained that she lost weight simply by increasing her activity level a little bit.

While talking to Daily Mail at the TV Choice Awards, she explained: ‘I’m not intentionally trying to change my look, but some of my clothes require adjustments. I believe I’ve lost around 30 pounds.’

I’ve been realizing I really need to prioritize getting more active. Honestly, I don’t walk nearly enough, and I know I should be making more of an effort to do so. Plus, I definitely need to work on my flexibility – I have very little core strength, and I think adding more stretches would be a really good idea. It’s something I’m planning to start doing!

Even though she hasn’t started using Ozempic, her doctor suggested it because she’s been diagnosed as prediabetic.

My doctor informed me that I was prediabetic and mentioned a medication like Ozempic. I told him I’d consider it, but I haven’t really done much thinking about it – I’m just considering it because he explained it could help me avoid developing Diabetes.

“I’m feeling alright now, but I’ll definitely keep it in mind. He gets upset whenever I don’t have Diabetes,” she said.

When asked about her current dating life, Anne stated: ‘I’m not really focused on relationships right now.

I enjoy spending time by myself and value my solitude. It’s funny, because I also really appreciate having male friends – I’m lucky to have so many! They’re great companions.

The actress previously thought she’d regret not becoming a mother, but now believes she avoided a difficult situation. She feels like not having children was actually a positive thing.

She explained, ‘I spend a lot of time on Mumsnet reading the “Am I being unreasonable?” posts. And I often think, wow, I don’t have any of these problems – it’s really great,’

It seems like a lot of people are struggling with issues in their relationships and with their kids, and honestly, I think to myself, ‘that’s terrible, I feel bad for them.’ But basically, I feel pretty good about my own situation.

Anne was also asked if she ever worries about getting cancelled one day.

I’ve noticed people sometimes deliberately play things safe, keeping their style or approach really neutral. And honestly? It can be frustrating to feel like you *have* to do that. Touch wood, but thankfully I haven’t encountered that situation recently – I haven’t felt pressured or made to feel uncomfortable by anyone’s advances.

Anne previously revealed that she can’t rely on a steady salary despite the success of The Chase.

The TV personality, famously known as The Governess on the popular ITV show, revealed that even though the quiz show is a success, none of the Chasers receive a fixed salary.

In an interview with The Mirror, Anne shared that she and her fellow Chasers aren’t looking to add anyone new to the team in the near future, and there’s one main reason why.

When questioned about the possibility of adding another Chaser to the show, she responded: ‘Well, we always hope that doesn’t happen.

She went on to explain: ‘We get paid for each performance, so we don’t receive a regular salary. It’s unlikely they’ll increase the budget to include salaried positions.’

Another competitor entering the market would simply divide the existing number of shows among a larger group – resulting in reduced earnings for all involved. Let’s hope that doesn’t happen!

Even though Anne understood that having another Chaser would likely reduce her income, she emphasized that she doesn’t have any negative feelings towards Darragh Ennis, who became a contestant on the show in 2020. She made it clear she wishes him no harm.

Anne also discussed the strong bond between the storm chasers, explaining that even though they compete with each other, they generally get along and enjoy spending time together, particularly while filming. She highlighted the camaraderie among them, noting it exists despite their competitive spirits. They often socialize when they’re all working on a project.

Even though she doesn’t receive a fixed salary for appearing on The Chase, Anne’s company, Frosty Knickers Ltd, had a revenue of more than £807,000 as of August 2023, as reported by The Mirror.

Although her company has significant assets and a high net worth, Anne has stated she isn’t one to spend lavishly, as she doesn’t see the point in ‘sloshing money around’.
