The Marvel Cinematic Universe is always releasing new movies and shows, both in cinemas and on Disney+. One of the most eagerly awaited upcoming films is Avengers: Doomsday, promising a massive team-up of superheroes. While the initial cast reveal with the chairs was a playful joke, it’s unclear if all the subsequent short teasers are actually building excitement or causing confusion.
Details about Avengers: Doomsday are scarce, so fans are speculating and sharing theories. After a brief Captain America preview, we’ve seen short clips of Thor, the X-Men, and the people of Wakanda. However, I really wish a full trailer had been released, as these short previews haven’t revealed much about the movie’s plot.
Seeing Shuri interact with the Fantastic Four was a highlight, but the recently released footage from Doomsday has left fans with a lot of unanswered questions. We’re wondering how the Fantastic Four will navigate to the correct timeline, how the X-Men from another universe will be involved, and what the story is with Steve Rogers’ child. Plus, some fans are disappointed that details about this crossover were revealed beforehand.

Disney+ offers streaming access to all things Marvel, starting at $11.99 per month with ads. You can remove the ads for $18.99 monthly, or save 16% by paying $189.99 annually. See the deal here.
Fans are trying to figure out what the recent Doomsday trailers mean, but we still don’t know much about how the movie will use its big cast. With the film still a year away, I wonder if releasing these teasers was a good idea. Maybe it would have been better to wait and show a full trailer for the Russo Brothers’ movie instead.
While The Chair Announcement Showed Off A Great Cast, The Teasers Are Ruining Some Surprises.

As a huge Marvel fan, I’m incredibly hyped about Avengers: Doomsday – especially after following the MCU for so long! Seeing the original X-Men cast finally becoming part of it all feels like a dream come true, which explains why the cast announcement blew up online. Honestly, though, the initial teasers have left me wanting more. It’s tough to get a read on the actual story, beyond the fact that Robert Downey Jr.’s Doctor Doom is apparently up to no good across multiple universes. It’s a bit frustrating, too, because some big reveals and crossovers have leaked out… but without enough information to really understand them.
I have to admit, I’m still a little shaken by the sudden shift in the MCU’s plans. The whole Kang saga just… vanished after everything that happened with Jonathan Majors, and it’s left a real void. We all thought we knew where things were heading, and now it feels like they’re scrambling to build towards Doom instead. The post-credits scene in Fantastic Four: First Steps gave us a hint of what’s to come, but honestly, there isn’t much to go on right now. I’m really hoping they start giving us more to chew on soon, because this pivot feels pretty abrupt.
You’ll find out everything about Avengers: Doomsday when it comes to theaters on December 18th, as part of the 2026 movie lineup. Hopefully, a trailer is coming soon!
