The reality competition show *The Traitors* has launched its first season with celebrities, and the game is now underway with three stars secretly designated as the ‘traitors’.
We believe the wrong people were labeled as traitors. Some who are truly loyal deserve recognition, while others wrongly accused should be reconsidered. Let us explain our reasoning!
Celia Imrie immediately stated her intention to win and acknowledged she’d have to be very competitive to achieve it. In a conversation with host Claudia Winkleman, the renowned actress playfully admitted she isn’t as sweet as people might assume – a surprising reveal that’s sure to be remembered!

So, when Celia was later made a faithful, it felt like a massive missed opportunity.
I was really excited to finally see Celia let loose and show her playful side, and I could just picture her throwing back her hood with a big smile, ready to take on the challenge with her team! It felt like we were *this* close to seeing a whole new side of her.

Celia has already shown us glimpses of her potential, so we’re confident she can follow through on her threats and become a truly formidable villain.
Despite her cautious nature and tendency to suspect dishonesty in others, her competitive spirit suggests she might eventually join the villains as the story unfolds.
Celia quickly jumped into detective mode, eager to uncover the real culprits just like her character Joyce in *The Thursday Murder Club*. She was so focused on finding traitors that she didn’t realize Nick Mohammed had simply offered help out of admiration, not as part of any plan.
Alan Carr was revealed as the person hiding inside Celia’s costume. He’s already admitted he’s bad at keeping secrets, so everyone pretty much knew he wouldn’t be a very sneaky contestant.

Despite everything, he was the highlight of the episode with his brazen attempt at murder, and the shocking ending has us eagerly anticipating the next installment.
Alan found himself in a tough spot. After being assigned the risky task of touching faces by Cat Burns and Jonathan Ross – who were also trying to sabotage the game – he was under a lot of pressure. This came right after he’d been gently scolded for talking about the task too openly, something we’ve all been guilty of, but especially unwise when a big prize is on the line!
Alan was perfectly cast – he brought the entertainment we needed. His performance was so much funnier than it would have been if he’d played the role straight.
I’m still waiting for Jonathan to really *do* something, honestly. He’s been good for a few laughs and a motivational speech here and there, but mostly he’s just let Alan take the lead. So far, he hasn’t exactly been a very active participant in the scheming, if you know what I mean!

Since we haven’t observed Jonathan performing these tasks extensively yet, we’re open to the possibility that our initial impression is incorrect.
Honestly, I think Cat would be a great leader too, even though she seems happy with Alan taking charge. She’s got that same calm, strategic vibe as Harry Clark from season two – definitely someone who could win the whole thing if she really wanted to.
This team needs more than just one great player, and there are others we would have definitely chosen. If we’d been involved in picking the team, we would have added Joe Wilkinson to join our top pick, Celia. Together, they would have perfectly balanced out Cat’s more reserved personality, creating an ideal group.
Despite Joe’s seemingly harmless wish to simply ‘see the turret,’ he has the perfect, emotionless expression to convincingly betray the others. This is quite different from Celia, whose intense stare is equally good at misleading people and covering their tracks.
Joe would perfectly play the sincere character, or even more impressively, skillfully mislead his fellow actors by making them question his true intentions during the scene.
I loved what Paloma Faith said about wanting to play both the good and bad sides – being a hero and a villain! But honestly, the way she talked about wanting to explore a little bit of darkness for a change was just brilliant. It really stood out to me.

No one would suspect the cheerful and friendly Paloma of being a traitor, which is precisely what would have made her so effective. She was clearly dedicated to finding out who the villains were, and she had the persistence to see any plan through to completion, regardless of the outcome.
We’re enjoying watching Alan attempt his risky challenge on *The Celebrity Traitors*, even though it seems likely to fail. If things don’t go his way, viewers are already starting to suspect Celia and want to see her questioned.
Celebrity Traitors is on BBC1 on Wednesdays and Thursdays. You can also catch up on BBC iPlayer.
