The Capture branded “best thriller on TV” and “BBC’s most underrated drama” in season 3 reviews

The popular BBC thriller, The Capture, returns this weekend after nearly four years with its third season. Early reviews suggest it’s a fantastic return!

Written by Ben Chanan, the series features Holliday Grainger as Rachel Carey, a police inspector who’s climbed the ranks. As the third season begins, Rachel is now the Acting Commander of the Counter Terrorism Command.

The latest storyline follows her efforts to win back the public’s confidence by introducing a new surveillance system. However, the system is quickly challenged when Rachel becomes involved in a terrorist attack in London.

The new season explores a pressing question: how do we find and defend the truth when lies are so common? It also asks how we can believe our eyes in an age of increasingly realistic deepfakes. The season features Lia Williams and Indira Varma alongside the main cast.

The first two seasons of the show were critically acclaimed, earning 92% and 100% positive ratings on Rotten Tomatoes. Viewers are hoping the third season continues this success, and early signs suggest it’s off to a strong beginning.
