The Cage
On Friday, Sheridan Smith kept beaming with joy while shooting the BBC One series titled “The Cage” in Liverpool, and it was hard for her to hide that grin.
The well-liked actress from England, aged 43, appeared quite energetic and lively during filming for the forthcoming action-packed crime series.
In a block of flats, the legendary figure from Gavin & Stacey shone brightly during filming, with her being seen wandering throughout the building.
Similar to her recent appearance, Sheridan donned a coordinated mauve tracksuit and was bundled up in a black padded jacket.
On set, the teacher-star could be seen laughing and socializing while slipping into the role of her freshly created character, donning a new pair of shoes for the part.
At the work site, Sheridan received assistance from the friendly team members and seemed to be deeply involved in a chat with someone who appeared to be a fellow actor.

This past week, Sheridan embarked on shooting a new drama series for the initial time with his co-star, Michael Socha, by his side.
The BBC One drama, penned and directed by BAFTA-nominated Tony Schumacher (The Responder), focuses on Leanne (Smith) and Matty (Socha). They unexpectedly find out that they’ve both been stealing from the casino where they work, which is located in the heart of the city.
The five-part drama will be directed by Al Mackay (Kidnapped, Without Sin).
Writer Tony hinted: ‘I’m eagerly anticipating that it will be found amusing, a touch ominous, but above all brimming with affection, vitality, and enjoyment. I can hardly wait to share it globally.’
The new position arises following the disclosure that Sheridan postponed indefinitely her highly anticipated memoir, titled Honestly.
2021 saw the announcement of a revealing memoir, planned to delve into the actress’s most challenging periods. This includes her fights against alcoholism, mental health issues, and significant romantic entanglements like her relationships with actor James Corden and Jamie Horn, the father of her child.
Ultimately, due to several postponements, the project had to be abandoned. According to an insider who spoke to The Sun, ‘Sheridan has been quite occupied lately and couldn’t devote enough time to finalize the book.’
‘She has a new perspective these days, and she’s hesitant about publishing this particular account. She’s uncertain if she’s ready to expose the details of her life in a public forum like this.’

Fans well-versed in the challenges faced by The Huntsman’s performer were not taken aback by this decision, given his persistent struggles over time.
2016 saw the actress going through a very public struggle with mental health issues during her role in the West End play, Funny Girl.
Her mental health struggles worsened due to stress, fatigue, and learning about her father’s cancer. This combination ultimately led her to need a break from the show.
Reflecting on that period, Sheridan admitted: ‘I was very ashamed of that time in my life.
I made some mistakes, dated people who weren’t good matches… But now, I find myself taking on responsibilities like a mom, and I’m incredibly thankful for everything in my life. I have a strong feeling that the best is still to come.
The BAFTA-award-winning actress is not afraid to talk about her struggles with mental health, frequently connecting these challenges to the stresses of stardom and grief.
Her father’s death in 2016 profoundly affected her, leading to an extended period of grief.
In a recent chat, I found myself overwhelmed by the outpouring of support from the community – people would approach me on the sidewalk, offering hugs and kind words. This heartfelt appreciation for their understanding during that challenging phase in my life truly warmed my heart.
In her latest West End production, titled “Opening Night,” she portrayed a character who was similar to herself – an actress battling with alcoholism and experiencing stress-induced breakdowns. She characterized the play as touching on personal issues, referring to it as being “very close to home.
Despite Sheridan giving his all to the part, the performance encountered severe critique and an unexpected end, with the producers attributing a difficult economic situation to their surprising choice.
