On Thursday night, it was revealed that Myles Smith is set to receive the highly respected Rising Star Award at this year’s BRIT Awards ceremony.

As a seasoned lifestyle connoisseur, I’m thrilled to share that I’ve been granted the honor of being the inaugural winner for the prestigious Brit Awards of 2025! This momentous occasion will unfold on March 1st, right within the hallowed halls of London’s iconic O2 Arena. Here’s to an unforgettable night filled with music, camaraderie, and the celebration of British talent!

In his own words, Myles expressed that receiving the Award, which was crafted by Gabriel Moses, felt incredibly unreal or dreamlike to him.

He said: ‘Winning the BRIT award for Rising Star is such a surreal moment. Music has always been about connecting with people, and to see it resonate on this level is incredible.’

I am incredibly thankful for my team, my loved ones, and particularly the fans who’ve been with me throughout my journey.

At nine years old, Myles was presented with his first guitar as a gift from his mom. This budding talent learned to master both the guitar and the piano on his own.

Starting at just 12 years old, the star gained self-assurance by showcasing his talent on the local open-mic scene, gracing numerous pubs and Irish bars with his performances.

2020 saw Myles begin sharing cover songs on TikTok, and in 2022, his rendition of The Neighborhood’s “Sweater Weather” became incredibly popular, earning him widespread recognition.

Having recently shared a string of critically-acclaimed originals such as “Solo” and “My Home,” I was thrilled to join forces with the esteemed Sony RCA label in 2023, furthering my musical journey and bringing more melodies to your speakers!

Earlier this year, his popular song “Stargazing” achieved success worldwide and reached platinum status, and as I write, it’s nearing 550 million plays on Spotify.

Previously this year, The Guardian identified the artist as a rising talent following the release of his songs that sometimes lean towards country music.

Since then, his individual tracks have been earning recognition and making their mark independently, reaching a climax with an exclusive performance on Fortnite Island. Additionally, he launched his second extended play titled “A Minute”.

Musical artists Elmiene and their group Good Neighbors were likewise nominated as candidates for the BRITs Rising Star accolade.

From 2008 onwards, this Awards event has been spotlighting promising musicians as future stars by featuring a distinguished list of nominated and victorious artists.

Past recipients of the BRITs Rising Star Award include artists like Adele, Sam Smith, Sam Fender, Ellie Goulding, Florence + The Machine, Griff, FLO, and this year’s winners, The Last Dinner Party.

Previous nominees for the award have been artists such as Dua Lipa, Anne-Marie, Lewis Capaldi, Cat Burns, Michael Kiwanuka, Mabel, and the band Years & Years.

It’s Gabriel Moses, a celebrated British-Nigerian artist with a diverse skillset, who is responsible for designing this year’s BRIT Award. Notably, he has worked with artists such as Skepta, Little Simz, and fashion powerhouse Burberry, among others.
