Adjoa Andoh, known for her role in Bridgerton, hints that the fourth season of the Netflix series will take some unexpected turns.
So, I was reading an interview with the actress who plays Lady Danbury, and she basically dropped a hint that the world of Bridgerton could get way bigger than we think! She suggested there’s potential for a whole ‘Bridgeverse’ with a lot more content than just the show – and it sounds like it could be pretty amazing.
Adjoa explained that while the story largely revolves around Benedict (Luke Thompson), the show is also broadening its scope to explore other characters and storylines, effectively expanding what they call the ‘Bridgeverse’.

She explained that if you enjoy Bridgerton, you’ll likely feel the same way about this – and it will offer even more value. It’s up to you to decide if that’s a good thing.
Although Andoh didn’t reveal any plot details, she may be hinting that the show will further explore the contrast between the lives of the wealthy and the staff, a theme already suggested in the trailer.
I’m so excited for season four of Bridgerton! It looks like it’s all about Benedict and Sophie – Yerin Ha is playing her, and she seems amazing. The trailer hints that their romance starts at a masquerade ball, and Benedict falls for her completely before he even knows who she really is. It’s going to be a good one, I can feel it!

Inspired by the story of Cinderella, Benedict will search for Sophie by trying to find the woman who lost a glove at the ball – the glove Sophie leaves behind.
The stars of season four discussed their characters’ relationship with Metro magazine, with Ha describing the storyline as a positive experience.
Ha believes the new direction will significantly expand the possibilities for Bridgerton. They feel it adds a sense of realism, moving away from the show’s previously polished and glamorous aesthetic, which they see as a positive change.
Now that we’re starting the fourth season, it’s great to bring a fresh energy and rhythm to the show, and I can’t wait for viewers to experience it.

Thompson agreed with Ha, explaining that it’s refreshing to see a glimpse of reality within the fantastical world of the show. While Bridgerton focuses on the glamorous ‘ton’ and its performances, the series also introduces elements of the real world, which Thompson finds particularly interesting. She notes that the ‘ton’ often feels like a separate, isolated bubble.
The first part of Bridgerton season 4 arrives on Netflix on January 29th, and the second part will be released on February 26th. You can also stream the previous three seasons and the prequel series, Queen Charlotte: A Bridgerton Story, on Netflix.
