The Break-Up Just Scored a Surprising New Streaming Home

Good news for Jennifer Aniston fans! One of her most popular films from the early 2000s will soon be available to watch at home. Even though it came out almost twenty years ago, the movie still realistically portrays the complexities of love, making it just as relevant now as it was then.

Starting November 1st, you’ll be able to watch The Break-Up on Prime Video. The film is a classic romantic comedy known for its relatable, if sometimes silly, fights between a couple, and was directed by Peyton Reed with a script by Jay Lavender and Jeremy Garelick.

In The Break-Up, Gary and Brooke are a couple whose relationship falls apart due to the little annoyances that build up over time. They meet at a Chicago Cubs game and eventually move in together, but things start to crumble when Brooke feels like Gary doesn’t appreciate her, and Gary gets tired of Brooke trying to control everything.

Instead of moving out, they stay together and immediately start a hilarious and messy feud. Gary retaliates with things like leaving trash everywhere and throwing wild parties, while Brooke gets even by kicking him off their bowling team and trying to make him jealous. The movie embraces the ridiculousness and small-mindedness that happens when exes are forced to live together.

Okay, let’s talk about The Break-Up. When it came out in 2006, critics were pretty divided – it just didn’t quite nail a consistent feel throughout the movie. However, I have to say, Jennifer Aniston and Vince Vaughn had fantastic chemistry together, and that really shone through. Despite the lukewarm reviews, audiences clearly enjoyed it – it was a box office hit, raking in $205 million globally on a $52 million budget, and it actually debuted at number one here in North America.

Jennifer Aniston Has New Projects in The Works

Jennifer Aniston has worked on many different types of projects lately. She currently stars in “The Morning Show” alongside Reese Witherspoon. The show was recently renewed for a fifth season, and Apple TV+ celebrated the news. According to Matt Cherniss, head of programming, “The Morning Show” has been a hit since its debut as one of Apple TV+’s first major series.

According to Cherniss, The Morning Show keeps giving us compelling and addictive stories, thanks to the incredible talent of the cast and creative team, including Jennifer Aniston, Reese Witherspoon, showrunner Charlotte Stoudt, and director Mimi Leder. They’re thrilled for audiences to see what happens next in this Emmy-winning series.

Jennifer Aniston is set to star in a new series based on Jennette McCurdy’s 2013 memoir. The 10-part show will explore the complicated relationship between a young actress on a popular children’s TV program and her self-absorbed mother (played by Aniston), who enjoys the spotlight as a celebrity mom.

The Break-Up will be available to stream on Prime Video from Nov. 1.
