The Boys season 5 is happening: Here's everything we know so far about the final season

As a die-hard fan of “The Boys,” I can’t contain my excitement for the upcoming final season! The fourth season was nothing short of diabolical and a departure from the comic books, but that’s exactly what made it so enthralling. Eric Kripke and his team did an incredible job adapting the stories to fit the small screen.

According to Billy Butcher from “The Boys” season 4, the series was surprisingly wicked. It deviated significantly from the comic books, but that’s perfectly fine. The majority of the narrative wouldn’t translate well into a television show. Fortunately, Eric Kripke and the creative team understood this and made the necessary adjustments.

For fans of “The Boys,” the final season brings a mix of excitement and sadness. Unlike “Supernatural,” it’s unlikely that the story will continue beyond season 5. While Butcher and Homelander’s showdown is highly anticipated, most of the stories have already been explored. Additionally, there are upcoming spinoffs such as “Gen V,” “The Boys: Mexico,” and potentially more. According to Deadline, Kripke expressed a desire to be part of expanding the universe but not as the showrunner.

As a devoted fan of The Boys since its inception, I’m beyond excited about the upcoming season 5. But let me tell you, it’s not just about the spinoffs that have been announced. Having followed the intriguing twists and turns of this gritty superhero series closely, I’ve come to expect nothing less than exceptional storytelling from the creators.

The Boys season 5 is happening: Here's everything we know so far about the final season

The Boys season 5 is filming until 2025

If we haven’t heard about any secret filming sessions, it’s unlikely that season 5 will be released this year. Fingers crossed, we might get to see it in 2025.

According to Varity, Kripke announced that filming for the fifth season of our show will begin in November 2024. The production is expected to continue into the year 2025.

And I don’t know when it’ll premiere yet, but we’ll be shooting well into middle of ’25.

One point to note is that the second season of “Gen V” in “Gotham” universe is anticipated to premiere around 2025. This scheduling allows for some breathing room before the series finale of “The Boys” is released. Typically, new seasons arrive annually, but this could be an exception.

Gen V season 2 will affect the final season

I’m a huge fan of Cate and Sam, who starred in season 2 of Gen V. Their impact on the series was truly remarkable, and it really showed during the final episode of season 4.

Kimiko’s capture and Frenchie’s departure from her would not have happened without their presence. Marie has a clear strategy in mind. In the season 1 finale of “Gen V,” she managed to survive after being hit by one of Homelander’s laser beams. It will take more than Butcher and his new abilities to defeat him. If Ryan refuses to aid in Homelander’s demise, Marie might hold the crucial role in bringing him down.

But, first, we’ll have to see what happens in Gen V season 2!

The Black Noir ending isn’t happening

Eric Kripke announced that the Black Noir clone saga won’t be part of the show. This became clear upon seeing the actor portraying Black Noir. Instead, viewers can look forward to unique and exciting elements not present in the source material. Even the villains could emerge victorious.

Sage has a plan for phase two

From the get-go, I’ve emphasized that each action taken by Sage held significance. It’s hard to believe this was all a whim. Instead, there’s an underlying sense of apprehension and intrigue. Sage herself referred to this as just the beginning of phase one.

As a gamer pondering about the next move of this character, I can’t help but wonder what’s in store for us. Will she bring about positive changes and place Homelander in power to create a better world for all? Or is she the ultimate supervillain in the making, ready to reshape our TV show universe with her nefarious plans?

Is there going to be a Supernatural reunion in season 5?

Jared Padalecki, known for his role as Sam Winchester on “Supernatural,” has been given an invitation to appear in the last season of “The Boys.” Consequently, there’s a possibility that the Winchesters might reunite.

In the finale of season 4, Homelander gazes at his dad, Soldier Boy (portrayed by Jensen Ackles, known for his role as Dean Winchester in “Supernatural”), while Kessler, played by Jeffrey Dean Morgan, resides within Butcher’s mind. With Eric Kripke (the creator of “Supernatural”) involved, this scene brings about an emotional reunion.

You might not be taken aback if actors like Misha Collins (Castiel) and Mark Sheppard (Crowley) appear in season 5 of “The Boys,” along with other former “Supernatural” cast members. In fact, Rob Benedict already made an appearance as Splinter in season 4, episode 2. Who knows which other familiar faces might join us? Keep an eye on TopMob for updates about season 5 and the latest news.
