While the fifth and final season of The Boys received mixed reactions, it still drew a large audience. The season has set new viewership records for the show, and the numbers are expected to climb even higher once data for today’s series finale (May 20th) is included.
According to The Hollywood Reporter, the show is averaging 57 million viewers per episode globally and has seen the biggest three-week increase in viewership of any title on Prime Video.
The season also ranks among Prime Video’s all-time Top 10 most-viewed seasons.

A common criticism of the season was the lack of action, something The Boys creator Eric Kripke had already addressed.

What you see online – a small group of very vocal people sharing strong opinions – isn’t really representative of what’s happening in the real world. Seeing the actual data helped me realize that and feel much more at ease.
