The Blood of Dawnwalker, From Ex-Witcher 3 Devs, Revealed

The upcoming game titled ‘The Blood of Dawnwalker‘ is an action role-playing game developed by Rebel Wolves, a team comprised of developers previously involved in ‘The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt’.

In a somewhat unique manner, it appears we find ourselves in the Carpathian Mountains during the 14th century – the very land where Dracula resides. However, this is not about Dracula; instead, it seems to revolve around a band of vampires who are eyeing a town ravaged by the plague, as hinted by the trailer.

As a gamer, I find myself on a harrowing journey alongside a brave father and his infected daughter. We’re running for our lives from an oppressive band of Inquisition-like knights who seek to end her life due to her carrying the plague. However, our escape is cut short when we’re ambushed by some ruthless vampires, adding another layer of danger to our already perilous situation.

Towards the conclusion of the trailer, we caught a glimpse of some in-game footage that shares a resemblance with “The Witcher 3”, but this time you possess vampiric abilities. The atmosphere and backdrop hint at “Castlevania: Rondo of Blood”, which is always a welcome reference. Notably, the game starts off in a decaying chapel much like the one depicted in this trailer, where priests are reviving Dracula.

The description reads:

In this game, you assume the role of Coen, a transformed Dawnwalker who navigates between the day world and the night realm. Employ your abilities and blend vampiric power with human determination as you embark on a mission to rescue those dear to you. Battle adversaries – they might be people, monsters, or even time itself. Be mindful though, for the true menace could dwell in the sun’s embrace, and an apparently faithful ally could hide in the shadows of night.

The game ‘Dawnwalker’s Blood’ will be available on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, and personal computers, though the exact launch date is still undisclosed.
