The Block’s Haydn Wise and his wife Chelsea announce they’re expecting their second child
As a dedicated follower of The Block and a firm believer in the power of love and determination, I can’t help but feel an overwhelming sense of joy for Haydn Wise and his wife Chelsea. Their journey to parenthood, filled with trials and tribulations, has been nothing short of inspiring.
The Block’s Haydn Wise and his wife Chelsea have announced they’re expecting their second child.
In the opening week of Australia’s most beloved home renovation series, the arrival of their firstborn child took place for the on-screen couple.
During this ongoing season, Haydn, paired with his longtime companion Ricky Recard, was abruptly airlifted from Philip Island due to the arrival of his newborn daughter.
The filming for the series came to an end in June, and now, this Victorian duo has shared that they are expecting their second child.
In the very first month after his homecoming, an unexpected event unfolded. It left everyone quite surprised. I suppose life has a way of throwing all its challenges at us at once – “When it rains, it pours,” as they say – and that’s exactly what happened, according to me, Chelsea, age 36.
The expecting mother told the publication she is now 14 weeks pregnant.
She mentioned that Haydn and I had been separated due to The Block for some time, but now that we’re reunited, it’s just delightful, she expressed.
A sneak peek of Nine’s 20th anniversary season revealed that Chelsea’s premature delivery by Caesarean section disrupted the week dedicated to bathroom-themed challenges.
The preview showed Blockhead Haydn getting an emergency call from his partner just as things on the building site were heating up.
Upon discovering that his wife was experiencing early labor, the IT manager from Melbourne seemed taken aback by the news.
In a state of excitement, I couldn’t help but feel elated when I learned about the new addition to the family, affectionately dubbed ‘Baby Blockhead’, leaving Haydn noticeably stunned.
‘I’m gonna be an Uncle,’ he exclaimed.
In my personal journey, I’m thrilled to share that we’ve been blessed with a new addition to our family. This joyous news follows our disclosure to Woman’s Day about the IVF treatments we undertook, culminating in our last cycle towards the end of the previous year. Our precious daughter Matilda made her arrival naturally five months ago, bringing immense happiness into our lives.
‘We thought there was no chance we would ever be parents,’ Haydn explained.
Chelsea, who is 36 years old, described her child as completely extraordinary when speaking to the publication earlier. She gave birth to the baby through an emergency Caesarean section in March.
Over a span of nine years, we persisted but soon realized that it was unlikely we would conceive naturally, or at least that was our belief. Consequently, we opted for the in vitro fertilization (IVF) procedure instead.
For several years, that continued, but then came the pandemic (Covid), which put a halt to it, and eventually, we decided to discontinue.
The pair refer to little Matilda as a ‘unicorn baby’ and couldn’t be more happy with their little family.
Chelsea added, “We weren’t anticipating such a swift outcome, considering our past difficulties. However, we’d been told that subsequent events might occur rapidly following the initial one.
The second baby is due on March 29, 2025.
That means Tilly will become a big sister just days before her own first birthday.
