The Block salaries Telling detail emerges in cast members’ pay packets

It has come to light that the earnings of The Block’s stars are public knowledge now. Notably, there is a significant difference in pay between the highest-paid and lowest-earning cast members.

The popular series’ host, Scott Cam, aged 62, is the most generously compensated cast member, earning an impressive annual salary of approximately AUD 2.4 million, as reported by realestate.com.au.

On the show, Shelley Craft, aged 49, ranks as the second highest earner, but there’s a noticeable gap in pay compared to her colleague Cam, who makes more, with an estimated income of $500,000 to $750,000 per series.

Additionally, it is worth noting that the cast of the Foreman’s series receive considerable remuneration. For instance, a previous leading actor, Keith Schleiger, who took a break from the show last year, reportedly earned between $250,000 and $300,000.

His successor, Dan Reilly, takes home between $150,000 to $200,000 per annum.

Nevertheless, it appears that the judging panel, including long-time participants Shaynna Blaze and Darren Palmer, are compensated somewhat less, with estimates suggesting they earn between $60,000 and $100,000 per season.

It’s reported that the new cast member, Marty Fox, is estimated to earn approximately $3,000 per episode. Given that last year’s series filmed at Phillip Island had 52 episodes, he might have made around $150,000 from his involvement in the show.

The least remunerated participants in this show are actually the contestants themselves. Each individual receives a daily pay of $100 throughout the 12-week duration of the show. Therefore, each team of two participants would earn approximately $16,800 for their time on the series.

Instead, the funds given to contestants should be referred to as “stipends” rather than salaries, since these individuals are not employed by Channel Nine, but rather receive this amount to cover their essential living costs during their participation in the show.

Reports suggest that the host of this series, Scott Cam, is among the most generously compensated presenters in Australia. His annual earnings of approximately $2.4 million surpass those of nearly all his fellow presenters.

It was reported last month by a source to Woman’s Day that Nine has a strong desire to continue featuring Cam and his on-screen partner, Shelley Craft, on their home renovation program for an extended period.

‘As long as audiences keep watching, Scotty and Shelley are the heart of the show,’ they said.

‘It’s ultimately up to the network, but if Scott wants to stay, they will find a way to keep him.’

The insider added that Cam’s good-natured attitude made him a delight to work with.

They mentioned that he remains grateful for the opportunity to continue with it year after year, being involved in a production that audiences still adore. There’s a clear feeling of appreciation behind this statement.

Cam has co-hosted The Block since 2010.

The 21st season of a well-known reality TV show that has been on for quite some time has just started airing, and it seems that this year, which was filmed in Daylesford, could be one of the most exciting seasons so far.

The host currently has a staggeringly high income, placing him as the second-most-financially-rewarded presenter across all of Australia, just below the co-host of The Today Show, Karl Stefanovic.

In May, The Australian’s first TV Rich List report suggested that Stefanovic, a Nine network star who is 51 years old, was earning approximately $2 million more than his fellow host on the Today show, Sarah Abo.

The report gathered information about the 35 highest earning TV personalities from Australia’s three commercial broadcasting channels: Channel Seven, Nine, and Network Ten.
