The Block contestants make a VERY bold fashion statement as they arrive at long-awaited auction in tiny budgie smugglers
As a die-hard fan of The Block, I’ve seen my fair share of drama and surprises, but nothing quite compares to Ricky and Haydn’s daring fashion choices! These Melbourne besties have certainly got the knack for turning heads, and they didn’t disappoint on auction day. Their vibrant swimwear and quirky hats were a breath of fresh air amidst the high-stakes tension.
This season, which has been far from typical, Ricky and Haydn from The Block surprised viewers yet again by showing up on auction day wearing bold outfits.
On a Saturday, the pair was spotted, donning merely small swimsuits called “budgie smugglers,” vibrant hats, and attention-grabbing embellishments, upon their arrival at the filming location.
In the last turbulent week, the outstanding buddies from Melbourne elevated their fashion expression significantly, following their decision to dismiss their builder over poor waterproofing work.
In a cheeky twist, the best mates donned colourful swim briefs that left little to the imagination.
Haydn donned eye-catching neon-patterned shorts, paired with bright neon orange socks, white athletic shoes, and a striking, colorful visor in rainbow hues.
Ricky, just as boldly, donned red swim trunks decorated with the logo of a crustacean restaurant, accessorizing with a vibrant, whimsical hat in multiple colors, while completing the look with white socks and shoes.
In another appearance later in the day, the duo turned up in more refined yet quirky suits.
Haydn chose a sharp, all-white suit complemented by a violet shirt and matching tie, complete with a vibrant, eye-catching pocket square.

Meanwhile, Ricky added some zest to the scene with a vibrant pink jacket layered over a soft pastel blue shirt. He paired it with white pants, a stylish teal necktie, and the same eye-catching hat he wore previously.
Their bold choices set a lighthearted tone for an otherwise high-stakes day.
The show has been packed with drama, with the pair’s builder woes adding to the mix.

Last week, my heart sank when Dan, the foreman, highlighted that Ricky and Haydn’s property’s waterproofing didn’t live up to building standards, which meant a hefty do-over was on the horizon. As an ardent fan of their work, I couldn’t help but share in their disappointment.
One of the most heated moments during the season unfolded when they butted heads with builder Miller, who was subsequently dismissed. This confrontation saw the friends openly voicing their disappointment about the delays in the project.

Regardless of any obstacles they encountered, Ricky and Haydn’s decision to inject humor into their auction day performance struck a chord with spectators, who promptly praised the pair for their amusing behavior during the intense climax.
This season’s five Block properties, situated in Cowes on Phillip Island, are expected to be sold at auction for between $1.7 and $1.85 million. The auction is anticipated to provide an exhilarating conclusion to what has been one of the show’s most unforeseeable seasons.
