Following its record-breaking status as the largest animated film ever, it’s now possible for everyone to enjoy Inside Out 2 from the comfort of their homes.

Disney is making the highly successful Pixar sequel available for digital download in both the UK and USA before its physical version hits stores at the end of September. This early release includes an alternative opening scene and additional cut scenes.

New 28 Days Later trilogy gets exciting filming update

As a dedicated fan of “28 Days Later”, I’ve been eagerly waiting for news, and this week, my excitement has doubled! We received not one but two filming updates about the much-anticipated sequel, “28 Years Later”, slated for release next year.

Andrew Macdonald, the producer, announced at the Edinburgh International Film Festival that shooting for the movie titled “28 Years Later” has been completed, and production on its yet-unnamed sequel has already commenced.

McDonald mentioned there remains optimism about a potential third film, yet it seems as though only two films may be produced consecutively.

It Ends With Us star responds to online backlash

The biggest movie news you might have missed this week (August 19-23)

Despite its success at the box office, It Ends With Us has sparked whispers of a dispute between Blake Lively and Justin Baldoni. These rumors have led to significant backlash against Lively on various social media outlets.

In a statement on Instagram, Brandon Sklenar condemned the “vilifying” of the female cast and author Colleen Hoover. “Colleen and the women of this cast stand for hope, perseverance, and for women choosing a better life for themselves,” he wrote.

Criticizing the women who poured so much passion and creativity into crafting this movie, as they are deeply invested in its meaningful message, appears to be contradictory and undermines the very essence of the film itself.

“It is, in fact, the opposite of the point. What may or may not have happened behind the scenes does not and hopefully should not detract from what our intentions were in making this film. It’s been disheartening to see the amount of negativity being projected online.”

First trailer for Kelly Macdonald’s vampire movie The Radleys

The biggest movie news you might have missed this week (August 19-23)

As a long-time film enthusiast and avid reader of contemporary literature, I must admit that I am particularly excited about the upcoming world premiere at the Edinburgh International Film Festival this week – Sky’s new adaptation of Matt Haig’s novel “The Radleys.” Having grown up in a small town much like the one depicted in the book, I find myself drawn to stories that explore the complexities and peculiarities of suburban life.

Before its grand debut, Sky unveiled the initial trailer for the upcoming film where I, along with Kelly Macdonald and Damian Lewis, portray a pair of vampires who have managed to keep their true nature hidden from their offspring. However, as the time comes, we find ourselves compelled to reveal our secret identities to them.

As a gaming enthusiast, I’m thrilled to share that the movie adaptation of “The Radleys” is hitting theaters and Sky Cinema on October 18th. This one’s definitely on my watchlist, so I’ll be sure to set a reminder to bring “The Radleys” home for Halloween!

Lionsgate pulls Megalopolis trailer after fake quotes controversy

The biggest movie news you might have missed this week (August 19-23)

As a long-time film enthusiast with a keen eye for detail, I find myself disappointed by Lionsgate’s recent blunder with Adam Driver’s new movie “Megalopolis.” Having spent countless hours dissecting trailers and scrutinizing every frame, I’ve come to value the art of storytelling through cinematic previews. The use of fake quotes not only undermines that trust but also tarnishes the reputation of the film and its talented cast, particularly Adam Driver.

The trailer commenced by featuring comments from renowned critics such as Roger Ebert and Pauline Kael, who had initially criticized Francis Ford Coppola’s earlier films like ‘The Godfather’ and ‘Apocalypse Now’. However, these movies are now widely recognized as masterpieces. This suggests that ‘Megalopolis’, despite initial negative reviews, might not be as poor as it seems.

Initially, it was discovered that the quoted lines didn’t truly exist as stated, and the one that did was related to an entirely different film. In response to public outcry, Lionsgate issued an apology and took down the trailer.

In their statement, they expressed heartfelt regret towards the affected critics and Francis Ford Coppola and American Zoetrope, acknowledging their unforgivable oversight during the review process. Essentially, what they meant was that they made a mistake, and they are truly sorry for it.
