The Biggest Loser star Fiona Falkiner shares her heartbreak over Christmas after split from wife: ‘It’s not really by choice’

Fiona Falkiner has spoken about how difficult it is being away from her two young children since her breakup with Hayley Willis.

On Monday, the former model shared a heartfelt video and explained that she didn’t choose to be separated from her sons.

The former Biggest Loser star, 42, wed Hayley, a former Nine sports presenter, in 2022.

The pair confirmed their break-up in October after a seven-year relationship.

Fiona shared a video on Instagram saying she was thrilled to be traveling back to Sydney to visit her sons, as she waited at Melbourne airport.

She shared a message for other mothers in similar situations, saying she understands how heartbreaking it is to be separated from your children when it’s not something you wanted – it’s just a difficult reality.

‘It’s just been so hard I just cannot wait to grab them and squeeze them and never let them go.’

She shared a picture of herself on the plane, along with a heartfelt message about her sadness and encouragement for other parents facing similar challenges.

She shared that nothing could have prepared her for the difficulty of being separated from her children, especially since they had always been the center of her world.

‘The days without work or distraction can leave you feeling empty and questioning yourself.

Missing the chance to hold your children close and tuck them in at night can be deeply painful, and it’s a feeling that’s hard to put into words. If you’re experiencing this for the first time, please know that I understand, and I share your sorrow. Just take things one day at a time.

In 2020, Fiona and Hayley announced they were expecting their first child, sharing a picture on Instagram of Hayley’s baby bump. They welcomed their son, Hunter, in May 2021.

The former couple welcomed their second son, Spencer, in August 2022.

I’ve always known Spencer and Hunter were special, and it’s amazing to think they’re half-brothers! Hayley carried Spencer, and Fiona gave birth to Hunter, but they both came from the same donor. It makes their bond even more incredible, honestly.

The high-profile couple announced they were calling it quits via social media two months ago.

Fiona shared in an Instagram post that her and her ex-partner’s main focus is always the happiness and wellbeing of their two sons, and they are dedicated to raising them together with kindness and respect.

‘We ask for privacy as we navigate this next chapter.’

Hayley hasn’t spoken publicly about the situation and seems to have removed her accounts from social media.

She has not been featured on Fiona’s Instagram page since May.

Hayley proposed to her partner while they were on vacation in Vanuatu in 2019, just seven months after they started dating.

Hayley proposed to her partner with a diamond ring during a romantic sunset moment on a private beach at The Moso resort.

Fiona announced her engagement on Instagram, sharing a photo of her ring and writing, ‘She asked and I said yes!’

Hayley also shared pictures of the proposal and paid tribute to her new fiancée.

She excitedly wrote, ‘I asked, and you said yes!’ and added, ‘I can’t wait to spend my life with you, Fee.’

They delayed their wedding due to Covid restrictions, walking down the aisle in November 2022.

Fiona shot to fame in 2006 as a contestant on The Biggest Loser Australia.

She eventually transitioned to television, becoming the host of a program that brought her widespread recognition in both 2015 and 2017.

Meanwhile, Hayley was a sports presenter for Channel Nine from 2014 – 2021.
