The best thriller of 2026 hailed as a “must-see” is now available to watch at home

The comedy-horror film Send Help, directed by Sam Raimi, is now streaming on Prime Video and Apple TV. It was first released in January and is also available to rent or purchase.

Written by Mark Swift and Damian Shannon, the movie Send Help tells the story of Linda Liddle (Rachel McAdams), a frustrated employee, and her demanding boss, Bradley Preston (Dylan O’Brien), who find themselves stranded together on a deserted island.

Linda, a huge fan of the show Survivor, tries her best to navigate a difficult situation, but Bradley consistently acts entitled and treats her poorly, causing old conflicts to resurface. The film Send Help was a hit with both critics and audiences, earning a 93% ‘Certified Fresh’ rating on Rotten Tomatoes and being named one of the best new movies of 2026.

The Irish Times praised the film, calling director Sam Raimi a unique talent and highlighting how well the movie showcases Rachel McAdams’s impressive range, creating something both enjoyable and unsettling.

According to Time Out, the film is a wildly intense and clever showdown, reminiscent of Cast Away, Misery, Lord of the Flies, and a survival challenge with Bear Grylls.

What to Read Next

We called Send Help the best thriller of 2026 so far, and praised the funny and well-executed performances by McAdams and O’Brien.

I was reading an interview with Sam Raimi over at Digital Spy, and he talked about how amazing actor Bruce Campbell was as Ashley J. Williams in Evil Dead. He actually said Bruce really made the character what he was, even pushing him to the absolute limit! Raimi admitted he was honestly a little scared of how far Bruce was willing to take it, which is a huge compliment, honestly.

I’d tell him, ‘Dylan, we need to rewind a bit. Remember what we discussed in the second act? We planned to connect with you more and gradually disconnect from her. If you push things too far…’

He always said he needed to go above and beyond, to really explore the limits of the role. That’s what makes a truly great actor – someone who challenges your assumptions and helps you achieve the best possible result.

Dennis Haysbert, Edyll Ismail, Xavier Samuel, and Chris Pang also feature in the film.

Send Help is currently available to buy or rent on Prime Video and Apple TV.
