Now it’s simpler for players to find shiny Pokémon, particularly with the help of sandwiches. With so many different types of shiny Pokémon available, building a fantastic collection is within reach for everyone.

Smoliv Is the Best Shiny Grass-Type Pokémon

Okay, so shiny Pokémon are always cool, right? But the ones that just give a realistic alternate color? Those are the best! Smoliv’s shiny is a perfect example – it turns its bud black, which really makes it pop compared to all the other Smoliv you see. Honestly, it’s one of my favorites, and the shiny version just elevates it even more.

Smoliv are commonly found in the olive fields of Cortondo, specifically in the South Province Area Two. They often appear in groups, and their spawn rate has been increased, making them quite easy to locate.

Camerupt Is the Best Shiny Fire-Type Pokémon

Camerupt is a visually striking Pokémon with a sleek black body and golden rings, and it’s considered one of the more interesting Pokémon from the Hoenn region. Fortunately, Scarlet and Violet players have two locations where they can search for it, though it’s worth knowing that other Fire-type Pokémon also appear in those same areas.

You can try shiny hunting for Numel in the mountains of West Province Area One. While Charcadet also appears there, Numel’s blue spots make it fairly easy to identify within groups. Another option is North Province Area Two, where Numel often spawns alongside Camerupt. However, be aware that Houndoom and Arcanine sometimes appear in this area as well.

Dondozo Is the Best Shiny Water-Type Pokémon

Casseroya Lake in Pokémon Scarlet & Violet used to have a lot of lag and performance problems, making it tough to find shiny Pokémon. Now that those issues have been fixed with an update, Pokémon like Dondozo are much easier to catch.

Because Water-type Pokémon are so frequent, it’s very difficult to specifically attract a shiny Dondozo using a sandwich. However, with its large size and vibrant yellow color, you won’t have trouble spotting it when it appears!

Lechonk Is the Best Shiny Normal-Type Pokémon

Lechonk’s charmingly basic design quickly made it a fan favorite. Its shiny form changes its color from black to a vibrant pink. This isn’t just visually appealing, it also makes shiny Lechonk stand out and easy to find from afar.

Lechonk appears in many locations, all across South Province and in Areas One and Two of East Province. Because it’s so common, you’ll quickly find several, and then finding a shiny one will simply depend on luck and how many you encounter.

Rellor Is the Best Shiny Bug-Type Pokémon

Rellor has a distinctive, large golden sphere, and this golden color carries over when it evolves into Rabsca. While it’s a neat design feature, players hoping to find a shiny Rellor will need to search specifically in the Asado Desert.

The original Switch sometimes slowed down during sandstorms, but the new Switch 2 doesn’t have this problem, allowing players to freely search for gold. While you might encounter the Bug-type Pokémon Larvesta in the area, it’s much rarer than Rellor.

Rufflet Is the Best Shiny Flying-Type Pokémon

You can find Rufflet in the Asado Desert. Making a Flying-type sandwich to increase encounter rates will make it much easier and faster to find lots of Rufflet there compared to other locations.

Okay, so if you’re like me and really want a shiny Braviary, it’s way faster to hunt for a shiny Rufflet in the desert and evolve it. Trying to find a shiny Braviary out in the wild is just going to take forever, so evolving Rufflet is the smart way to go if you want that shiny bird quickly!

Pawmi Is the Best Shiny Electric-Type Pokémon

Pawmi and its evolved forms are the common Electric-type Pokémon you’ll encounter in the Paldea region of Scarlet & Violet, appearing frequently, particularly in the beginning areas of the game. But don’t assume it’s the only Electric-type available – other Electric Pokémon can also be found in the same locations.

The prairies in South Province, Area Three, and the mountains of Area Five are the most promising places to find them and distract them with a single sandwich. Once you do, spotting a shiny one will be easy – it’s a bright, noticeable hot pink that stands out surprisingly well.

Slither Wing Is the Best Shiny Fighting-Type Pokémon

Okay, I have to say, Slither Wing looks amazing – that shiny version is just gorgeous! And what’s really cool is that it’s a Bug-type Pokémon, which you don’t often see in the fighting category, so it really pops. I love the color scheme too, it’s mostly yellow and blue with a little bit of purple thrown in. My only complaint? You can only find it in Area Zero, which makes getting one pretty tough!

It’s frustrating that you can’t have a picnic in Area Zero. This means players hoping to catch a shiny Slither Wing need to prepare a sandwich beforehand, wasting valuable time.

Lokix Is the Best Shiny Dark-Type Pokémon

You can find Lokix early on in the Scarlet & Violet games, so it’s not one of the most powerful Pokémon. However, its design, which is inspired by Kamen Rider, is really cool, and its golden shiny version looks even better!

You can find Lokix in the mountains or rocky areas of South Province Area Six. Bombirdier often appears in the same mountain regions, so spotting one can help you know you’re searching in the correct location.

Orthworm Is the Best Shiny Steel-Type Pokémon

Orthworm is a charmingly silly Pokémon with a sweet, almost Muppet-like face, and its shiny version, a bright blue color, is even more adorable. It’s not very common, and can only be found in the Asado Desert or the East Province area—the same place where players battle the giant Titan Orthworm during the game’s story.

Asado Desert is a better place to hunt for shiny Pokémon than the other location, because it’s one of the few places where you can find Orthworm, a Steel-type Pokémon. Just be careful not to get too close to the ruins, as that can make it harder to find the Pokémon you’re looking for.
