The best highlights of Shanghai Major Opening Stage

skullz win a crucial round from FURIA versus Imperial

The best highlights of Shanghai Major

The round seemed to be in favor of Imperial, since FURIA barely managed to set off the bomb on the A Bombsite of Anubis within the given time.

In the match, Imperial was close to being marked on the map, but Felipe “skullz” Medeiros dashed their dreams by executing a triple kill using an AK-47 instead of planting the bomb. It appears that in some instances, not planting the bomb can lead to victory as well.

FURIA went on to win the map, and push Imperial to the 0-2 pool of the Elimination Stage.

paiN kauez pulls off an unbelievable ace against Imperial on Dust 2

The best highlights of Shanghai Major

Among the standout performances by paiN Gaming’s rifle players during the Shanghai Major, Kaue “kauez” Kaschuk may have delivered the most spectacular moment of them all.

In the opening game of the initial stage, the skilled player managed to land three clean headshots (one-deags) on an eco, and then swiftly claimed two more victories using the M4A1-S against Imperial. The way he aggressively charged Catwalk armed with a Desert Eagle is sure to motivate our ordinary teammates in ranked matches.

paiN snow hits an AWP collateral versus Imperial on Dust 2

The best highlights of Shanghai Major

In the heat of a challenging counter-attack against Imperial on Dust 2, I managed to score an AWP kill with a collateral beauty – all thanks to my skills as paiN Gaming’s rising star, snow (João “snow” Vinicius).

If the Imperial team hadn’t formed their snow strategy, there’s a chance that paiN might have won the round, or perhaps even the entire game. Once Imperial adopted the snow strategy, they never seemed to fully recover.

Twistzz crushes Cloud9 with an astonishing triple kill on Ancient

The best highlights of Shanghai Major

Liquid pulled a hell of a comeback against Cloud9 in the Shanghai Major Opening Stage first round. And, of course, the IGL and star Russel “Twistzz” Van Dulken played a huge part in it.

In the video you’ll find below, “The Magician” successfully recaptured Ancient’s B Bombsite multiple times using both doubles and triples, a remarkable feat. This stunning play is considered Twistzz’s finest moment because at that time, Liquid were trailing 6-9 points behind when he managed an incredible triple kill – seemingly impossible under the circumstances.

Sonic aces Fnatic to put Wildcard on match point

The best highlights of Shanghai Major

Even though Fnatic only had pistols, we can’t downplay Aran “Sonic” Groesbeek’s ace versus them.

If Fnatic hadn’t secured the trade for Freddy “KRIMZ” Johansson and taken out the enemy players at Connector, Fnatic might have triumphed in that round and possibly the entire series against Wildcard during the initial matchup.
