The Best Digimon Series of the Decade Finally Gets an English Dub

I remember when this franchise was HUGE – seriously, it was right up there with Pokémon! Things haven’t been as strong for a while now, and I think a big part of that was we just hadn’t gotten a really great anime series since the early 2000s. But honestly, things are really looking up! 2025 is shaping up to be an amazing year, and the end of the year is bringing some fantastic news for all of us fans!

Digimon Beatbreak premiered in late 2025 and has quickly become the most popular Digimon anime in years. While fans couldn’t initially watch it with English dubbing, a dub is now being produced. This could introduce the series to a whole new audience and revitalize the Digimon franchise.

The Newest Digimon Anime is Finally Receiving an English Dub

Digimon Beatbreak, which began airing in October 2025, is the latest installment in the Digimon anime series. It’s a completely fresh start for the franchise, launching two years after Digimon Ghost Game and aiming to attract new viewers while reminding long-time fans of the series’ strengths. Since its release in Japan, Digimon Beatbreak has been available to stream on Crunchyroll, the world’s leading anime platform.

The anime series Digimon Beatbreak is expected to have between 40 and 50 episodes, and 12 have already been released in Japan. Currently, viewers outside of Japan can watch the episodes on Crunchyroll at the same time as the Japanese release, but only with Japanese audio and subtitles. However, an English dub is scheduled to become available before the end of 2025.

Good news for Digimon fans! The English dub of Digimon Beatbreak is coming to Crunchyroll on December 27, 2025. The first five episodes will be available dubbed, and while the release schedule beyond that hasn’t been announced, it’s expected the dub will eventually cover the entire series.

The English voice actors for the show have been revealed! Zeno Robinson will play Tomoro Tenma, Risa Mei will voice Gekkomon, and Cristina Vee will be Reina Sakuya. Courney Shaw will play Chiropmon, Jalen Askins will voice Kyo Sawashiro, and Cory Yee will be Murasamemon. Many of these actors are well-known in the anime dubbing world, with Cristina Vee having previously voiced characters in popular shows like One-Punch Man and Sailor Moon Crystal.

Digimon Beatbreak is the Anime’s Biggest Hit in Years

Though not strictly for adults, Digimon Beatbreak has a noticeably more serious tone than previous Digimon series. From the first trailer, fans observed it seemed aimed at an older audience. It heavily incorporates cyberpunk elements, focusing on the digital world in a way that feels fresh and relevant, but not forced or outdated.

This installment takes a different approach, portraying the main creatures as potentially dangerous rather than simply friendly. This more serious tone, combined with a developing storyline and impressive futuristic designs, is drawing in a larger audience. The positive attention surrounding the English dub is also a factor, and it all points to this being the most promising entry in the series for quite some time.

The 2020s have been a challenging period for the Digimon franchise, particularly considering its initial attempts at a comeback. The reboot, Digimon Adventure 2020, aimed to recapture the magic of the original anime, but it unfortunately fell short. That’s fantastic – it’ll make it so much easier for new viewers to jump in and hopefully fall in love with the series like I have.
