And I was thrilled when Miss Bianca and Bernard returned for another adventure thirteen years later in The Rescuers Down Under. This time, the action took them all the way to Australia where they had to save a young boy from a dangerous poacher and, thankfully, also managed to rescue a beautiful, endangered eagle. It was a fantastic follow-up!

Unlike most animated sequels, The Rescuers Down Under actually became more popular than the first movie. This isn’t too surprising when you consider the second film benefited from a period of incredible animation quality, while the original came out during a less innovative time for the art form.

As a huge Batman fan, I truly believe Batman: Mask of the Phantasm is the definitive take on Bruce Wayne. It really showed what the DCAU could be, and it’s amazing it even got a theatrical release! What I love most is how it’s both a smart take on the superhero genre and a surprisingly moving, though flawed, love story. For me, it actually exceeded even Tim Burton’s films as the best Batman movie of the 90s – and maybe ever.

They all decide they need to escape his aunts, so they team up and roll that giant peach all the way across the Atlantic to America. It’s a really fun and heartwarming adventure!

This creates a delightfully psychedelic experience, reminiscent of a vivid dream. It’s a wonderfully quirky story, like a blend of Charles Dickens and Dr. Seuss, offering a bizarre yet heartwarming found family for a young boy.

Anastasia is an Animated Historical Epic

The Russian royal family, the Romanovs, are overthrown in a revolution, and Princess Anastasia manages to escape, but loses her memory in the process. Ten years later, Rasputin is thought to be gone, and Anastasia is living a simple life as Anya, unaware of her past. However, her reappearance unexpectedly brings Rasputin back to life, forcing Anya to seek help from someone she once knew.

Anastasia was a unique and beautifully animated film that offered a glimpse into post-revolution Russia.
