The Bear star Molly Gordon lands next lead movie role in new comedy
As a fan who’s been following Molly Gordon’s career with bated breath, I can hardly contain my excitement for her latest lead role in the upcoming comedy “Oh, Hi!”. With her captivating performances in shows like “The Bear” and the critically acclaimed “Theater Camp”, it’s clear that this talented actress has a knack for making us laugh, cry, and everything in between.
The Bear star Molly Gordon has landed her next lead movie role in the new comedy Oh, Hi!
Under the guidance of director Sophie Brooks, who collaborated on the plot with Gordon, the movie revolves around a pair embarking on their initial vacation together, which takes an unanticipated twist. Filming started in New York earlier this month (as reported by Deadline).
The movie focuses on Iris (Gordon) and Isaac (Logan Lerman), who are having an enjoyable weekend together as a couple, until Isaac reveals that he wasn’t aware they were in a relationship.
Iris believes he might be mixed up about something… hence, she chooses to keep him confined for the sake of mutual understanding.
Apart from Gordon and Lerman, the independent comedy also features Geraldine Viswanathan, known for her role in Drive-Away Dolls, as well as John Reynolds, a familiar face from Search Party.
In collaboration with producers David Brooks and Dan Clifton, Brooks and Gordon worked on the project. Julie Waters is another producer involved, while Evan Dyal, Molly C Quinn, Matthew M Welty, Elan Gale, Evan Moore, and Justin Brown serve as executive producers.
In a notable role, Gordon portrays Claire Dunlap in the popular cooking drama “The Bear“, available for streaming in the UK on Disney+ and in the US on Hulu.
In the previous year, the actor featured in “Theater Camp”, a humorous documentary-style production that unfolds at a make-believe summer camp. The instructors are faced with the challenge of staging an extraordinary performance to secure the camp’s continuation.
Besides starring as the main character, Gordon shared the director’s chair with Nick Lieberman. Together, they penned the script alongside Ben Platt and Noah Galvin, who each made brief appearances within the movie.
The ensemble features Ayo Edebiri, who starred alongside Gordon in “The Bear”, Bailee Bonick, Jimmy Tatro, Patti Harrison, Amy Sedaris, and Nathan Lee Graham.
According to their top-tier evaluation, Digital Spy highly commended the amusing comedy titled “Theater Camp” for its engaging melodies in the form of show tunes and recurring jokes, labeling it as the “most hilarious comedy of the year.”
Apart from the role he’s already taken, Gordon is set to star in an upcoming murder mystery titled “Three Bags Full: A Sheep Detective Story” on Amazon MGM Studios, a production that revolves around a group of clever sheep capable of comprehending human behavior.
Hello there! Unfortunately, I don’t have information about when “Oh, Hi!” will be released. However, you can currently stream seasons 1-3 of “The Bear” on Disney+ in the United Kingdom, and on Hulu in the United States.
