Andrea first appeared in the animated film Batman: Mask of the Phantasm. She was once engaged to Bruce but ended the relationship and went into hiding in Europe to escape her family’s connections to organized crime.

Okay, so this movie, Mask of the Phantasm, really got me with its story. It starts with this tragic thing happening to Andrea – the mob takes out her parents. That’s when she transforms into the Phantasm, a total vigilante, determined to get revenge. But here’s the kicker – and it’s a huge twist! You find out the Phantasm, this mysterious figure with the creepy skull mask, hood, cloak, and voice changer, is actually Andrea the whole time. It was a genuinely shocking reveal!

Although the villain for the next Batman movie hasn’t been officially revealed, director Matt Reeves hinted the character will be unlike any we’ve seen in a film before.
