The Batman: Part 2 director explains release date delay
Director Matt Reeves of “The Batman: Part 2” clarified the postponement in its release date. He mentioned that he’s still working on the script and anticipates starting filming this year.
On the Golden Globes red carpet, Keanu Reeves was questioned by The Hollywood Reporter about why the film’s premiere had been rescheduled to 2027.
Reeves mentioned that they’re wrapping up the script and there have been numerous distractions lately, which is why it hasn’t been ready yet.
He went on to say: “Next year will primarily focus on taking this project into manufacturing phase and launching the film. We’re genuinely thrilled about it!
Back in our conversation, Reeves shared some exciting news: he assured me personally that the filming for the project will undeniably commence this very year. In simpler terms, he promised it’s happening this year!
The movie faced a setback as its sequel’s release was pushed back yet again, now scheduled for October 1, 2027.
Twice now within the past ten months, the release of “The Batman: Part 2” has faced setbacks. Originally planned for launch in October 2025, it experienced a delay of one year in March and is now scheduled to debut in October 2026.
Earlier, during discussions about the upcoming sequel featuring Robert Pattinson as the protagonist again, Reeves mentioned: “There’s a lot of turmoil and there’s a great deal of excitement due to the disclosures made towards the end of the previous film.
He went on saying: “The turmoil in the streets seems to question, ‘Isn’t it astonishing?’. It appears that this level of corruption runs as far and wide as one might imagine.”
He continued: “The chaos on the streets seems to be expressing disbelief, ‘Could this really be happening?’. It looks like this degree of corruption is pervasive and deep-rooted.
In the initial film, Batman perceives the world in a straightforward manner, distinguishing between right and wrong, focusing on what he can embody and the impact he can make. However, as we transition to the subsequent movie, things become less clear-cut, with many shades of gray.
