The Batman fans think they know who Scarlett Johansson is playing after cast announcement

Scarlett Johansson will be adding a DC film to her resume, joining the cast of The Batman Part II. This makes her one of the few actors to appear in both Marvel and DC movies. Filming for the sequel is expected to begin soon, following several delays.

I’m so excited! Matt Reeves just revealed who’s joining the cast for his Batman sequel! Apparently, David Harbour, who you might know as Red Guardian from Black Widow, is going to be in it! And that’s not all – Sebastian Stan, Brian Tyree Henry, Charles Dance, and Sebastian Koch are joining the fun too. This cast is seriously shaping up to be amazing!

Reeves revealed the cast – both new and returning – using GIFs on social media. While he didn’t say which roles the new actors will play, fans believe the GIF he chose for Johansson strongly suggests which character she’ll be portraying.

Director Matt Reeves hinted at the next stage of ‘The Batman’ with a post saying “Next exit, Gotham…” He included a GIF of Scarlett Johansson from her 2013 movie Under the Skin, in which she has a dark, wavy hairstyle.

Many fans believe Keanu Reeves hinted at an exciting casting choice: they think she’ll be playing Gilda Dent, the wife of Harvey Dent (also known as Two-Face). In the comic book story The Long Halloween, Gilda also becomes a villain and is known for having a similar hairstyle to the actress.

One fan commented, ‘That’s definitely Gilda Dent!’, and another predicted that Scarlett Johansson saying ‘I Believe in Harvey Dent’ would become a memorable moment.

On Reddit, people are overwhelmingly convinced that the character is Gilda Dent, with many commenting that the rumors are true and it’s almost certain.

There’s been talk that Sebastian Stan will portray Harvey Dent, and Charles Dance is set to play his father.

Okay, so Keanu Reeves liked a GIF that really makes it seem like a certain rumor is true, and a lot of websites are now reporting it as fact. But honestly, until Keanu himself, Warner Bros., or anyone actually involved confirms it, I’m still taking it with a grain of salt. It’s exciting, but not official yet!

Robert Pattinson has hinted that the upcoming Batman movie will be significantly different from the first one. He described the initial film as a unique take on the character, but suggests the new movie will be even more surprising and enjoyable for audiences.

The Batman: Part II is scheduled to be released in cinemas on 1 October 2027.
