The Batman 2 Filming Update Is Great News for DC Fans

Not much is known about the next Batman movie, but it looks like filming will start soon.

What is the latest The Batman 2 filming update?

A recent report from Glasgow World indicates that filming for The Batman Part II is scheduled to start in January 2026. Scouts have already been looking at potential locations, including Glasgow Cathedral and Anderston train station, as possible filming sites.

As a huge fan of The Batman, I was excited to hear that most of The Batman Part II will be filmed at Leavesden Studios in England. But it’s cool to remember they used Scotland for the first film too! A lot of those big outdoor scenes at the end of The Batman? Those were actually shot on location in Glasgow, which I thought was a really neat touch.

It’s been a while in the making, but the sequel to The Batman is in development. The first film, starring Robert Pattinson as Batman, was a huge success when it came out in 2022, earning over $770 million worldwide.

Production on the sequel to The Batman, currently called The Batman Part II, is scheduled to start at Warner Bros. Studios Leavesden in London on January 1, 2026, according to a new report.

Robert Pattinson will be back as Batman in the new film. Colin Farrell, Andy Serkis (as Alfred), and Jeffrey Wright (as Commissioner Gordon) are also returning. While not officially confirmed by Warner Bros., Barry Keoghan is likely to reprise his role as the Joker.
