The Batman 2 Director Officially Confirms Game of Thrones Star in Cast

While fans eagerly await the next Batman movie, director Matt Reeves has been sharing exciting news online. He’s officially announced the actors who will be in The Batman Part II, and among them is a well-known star from Game of Thrones.

Keanu Reeves recently posted a GIF on X (formerly Twitter) featuring Charles Dance, famous for his role as Tywin Lannister in Game of Thrones. In the GIF, Dance emerges from the darkness, and Reeves captioned it, “Out of the shadows… Welcome.” The post quickly went viral, receiving over 56,000 likes within an hour, as fans are excited to see the acclaimed actor joining the cast in Gotham City.

Charles Dance Will Definitely Appear in The Batman Part II

Okay, so Reeves finally confirmed that Jamie Foxx is joining the cast! We didn’t get a lot of details about what role he’ll play, but apparently, the word on the street is he’s going to be Harvey Dent’s dad. And if that’s true, everyone’s guessing Sebastian Stan, who’s already played Winter Soldier in the MCU, will be Two-Face! It sounds like they’re planning on showing Harvey’s transformation into the villain in the next movie, which is super exciting!

Matt Reeves announced on X that Scarlett Johansson, known for her role in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, is joining the cast of The Batman Part II. It’s currently unknown what character she’ll play, but she’s a familiar face in superhero films. Reeves also confirmed that Jeffrey Wright, Andy Serkis, Colin Farrell, Jayme Lawson, and Gil Perez-Abraham will reprise their roles from the first Batman movie in the sequel.

It’s Still Unconfirmed if Barry Keoghan’s Joker Will Appear

Many fans have wondered if Barry Keoghan will be back as The Joker in The Batman Part II after his quick appearance in the first film. Director Matt Reeves hasn’t confirmed his return yet. Meanwhile, it appears Zoë Kravitz won’t be reprising her role as Catwoman in the sequel. Reeves likely wants to keep some of the cast a secret to maintain an element of surprise for the audience.

After a five-year wait, a sequel to The Batman is finally moving forward. Although a sequel was announced after the first film’s release in 2022, development has been slow. Matt Reeves didn’t finish writing the script until the summer of 2025, and filming is now scheduled to begin in June 2026.

The Batman Part II is scheduled to be released in movie theaters on Oct. 1, 2027.
