As a hardcore Star Wars fan who’s been through the highs and lows of the galaxy far, far away, I can’t help but feel a sense of nostalgia and excitement with the announcement of “Star Wars: Hyperspace Stories: The Bad Batch: Ghost Agents.” After bidding farewell to the ragtag group of clones earlier this year, it’s heartening to know that their story doesn’t end here.
This year, we bid farewell to “The Bad Batch” and Clone Force 99, but their thrilling escapades continue! In the near future, an enticing comic book miniseries is set to unfold a fresh narrative starring the beloved characters, including the tech-savvy character, Tech himself.
In the five-part comic series “Star Wars: Hyperspace Stories: The Bad Batch – Ghost Agents” from Dark Horse Comics, the Clone Force 99 team is back for another thrilling adventure. This miniseries, penned by Michael Moreci and beautifully illustrated by Reese Hannigan, chronicles the perilous journey of the Bad Batch members – Hunter, Wrecker, Crosshair, and Tech – as they chase a Separatist ghost agent throughout the galaxy.
This narrative occurs before the events portrayed in the series, a benefit that Star Wars publishing enjoys as it can reintroduce characters like Batch by delving into their past. Previously featured in the broader “Hyperspace Stories” comic, this is their initial solo miniseries. Here’s hoping it won’t be their last!
Over the course of its next five installments, the comic book series will showcase cover illustrations by Valeria “Lux” Favoccia, while also offering alternative cover versions by French Carlomagno.
Author Moreci shared with Dark Horse, “It’s no secret to those familiar with my Star Wars creations that I hold a deep affection for The Clone Wars… Among its aspects, The Bad Batch stands out as my personal favorite. They are incredibly cool and distinctive, almost like ’80s action heroes transported into the Star Wars universe.
