The Bachelorette’s Bill Goldsmith and partner Isabelle Eisermann break their silence following tragic death of daughter Olive

Bill Goldsmith, from The Bachelorette, and his partner Isabelle Eisermann have spoken out after the heartbreaking loss of their baby daughter, Olive, who was stillborn.

On Sunday night, the couple posted a message on social media expressing their gratitude to fans for the support they’ve received during this challenging period.

My heart absolutely broke when I saw the photo they posted – them holding their little one, even though they’d already passed. It was such a tender, devastating image, and the message they wrote alongside it… it was just full of gratitude, even in the midst of unimaginable pain. I can’t stop thinking about it.

Honestly, the outpouring of love for our little Olive has been incredible! We’re so touched – it’s not just from our closest circle, but from people we’ve never even met. It’s been truly overwhelming in the best way possible, and we’re so grateful for everyone’s kindness.

We shared the news of Olive’s passing because we made a promise to always remember her, to speak about her openly, and to celebrate her life with pride.

‘She will always be our first child and the one who made us parents.’

They then revealed the surprising reason they decided to share their heartbreaking story.

They shared the post hoping it would resonate with others who’d gone through similar experiences, making them feel understood and validated. They were surprised by how widely it spread and the positive effect it had on so many people.

I’m incredibly thankful for all the parents who have contacted me to share their experiences since we introduced Olive. I’m always here to offer a listening ear.

Earlier this month, the couple announced the devastating loss of their daughter, who was stillborn.

They shared the news on Instagram with a series of black and white photos, showing them lovingly holding their newborn daughter.

Our baby daughter, Olive May Goldsmith, was stillborn on Thursday, October 31st, at 4:14 a.m. She was 27 weeks along.

She fought incredibly hard, particularly in recent weeks. Despite facing overwhelming challenges, she continued to amaze her doctors and midwives with her resilience, holding on as long as she possibly could.

The couple added they were still processing the news.

They described a love unlike any they’d ever experienced, and a pain to match. The phrase ‘There is no heartbeat’ will stay with them always, they shared.

The couple said they spent three days with Olive in hospital after her birth.

They spent hours cuddling, kissing, and caring for their baby. They dressed her, read to her, sang to her, and took her outside, constantly telling her how perfect and loved she was.

Saying goodbye to Olive was the most painful experience of our lives. It’s unimaginable for any parent to leave the hospital without their newborn baby, and we never should have had to.

Olive, we loved you more than words can say. You fought so bravely, and your strength helped your mom and dad through a very difficult time.

Influencer Mitchell Orval and social media star Chloe Szepanowski both expressed their sadness, writing messages of love and sympathy to someone or a group of people. Orval wrote, ‘This broke my heart, I’m so sorry guys,’ and Szepanowski added, ‘Sending you guys so much love. I’m so sorry.’

They announced they were expecting their first child in September with a photo of a cake and ultrasound pictures.

Isabelle announced that she and her partner are expecting a baby in January 2026, and expressed how quickly time is passing, noting her current child is already halfway grown.

Goldsmith shot to fame as an early frontrunner on Ali Oetjen’s season of The Bachelorette in 2018.
