The awkward moment The Project's Georgie Tunny leaves Aussie tennis titan Alex de Minaur speechless

As a lifestyle expert with a rich background in media and pop culture, I find this intriguing yet amusing. Alex de Minaur‘s life seems to be a blend of sports, romance, and a dash of humor, much like a well-prepared dish with unexpected but delightful ingredients.

Alex de Minaur was left lost for word during an interview on The Project on Thursday evening.

25-year-old Australian tennis champion seemed taken aback as host Georgie Tunny questioned him regarding his label as a sex symbol, and even likened his appearance to that of a rodent (rat).

She mentioned during the candid discussion that you had been chosen as Australia’s most alluring rodent companion, she added.

The handsome star, who is currently dating Brit tennis champ Katie Boulter, 28, appeared to be taken aback by the back-handed compliment.

He replied, “I didn’t realize that. It’s unclear if I should feel pleased or if that was a subtle criticism.”

Georgie reassured him the accolade was ‘meant to be a compliment.’

As a die-hard enthusiast, I can’t help but share my fascination with a trend that’s been buzzing across social media. It seems that among young women aged 25 and below, there’s a growing aspiration for the ‘hot rodent boyfriend’! These charismatic critters are captivating hearts left and right, leaving me utterly intrigued.

Online they’re described as ‘unconventionally attractive’ and often ‘skinny and lanky’.

After Alex and his girlfriend, Katie, disclosed the strategies they used to hide their relationship at the beginning, an uncomfortable conversation ensued.

Since 2020, the Australian and British partner have been a couple, and they captured the affection of sports enthusiasts last year when they paired up in the mixed doubles tournament at Wimbledon.

In an interview with Tennis TV in April, the pair admitted that at first, they kept their romantic involvement secret not just from other tennis players but also from the general public.

Katie began: ‘Remember that time when we were having breakfast on like separate tables?’

Alex responded: ‘That was the early stages. We would rock down to breakfast at different times.’

The blonde then confirmed it was often ‘different times, like 10 minutes later.’

Alex, who seemed to enjoy reminiscing, stated that the action was intentionally designed to “steer clear of conjecture.”

‘It’s so true, so people wouldn’t find out,’ responded Katie.

Earlier this year, Alex made it into the top 10 for the first time, and in March, Katie reached her highest career ranking of No. 27 on the Women’s Tennis Association (WTA) tour.

The chatter about their relationship remains strong, as Boulter was seen wearing a ring during one of de Minaur’s games at the Australian Open in January, while seated courtside.

As a long-time tennis enthusiast with a soft spot for exciting and innovative tennis events, I am thrilled to announce that I will be teaming up with Australian champion Nick Kyrgios at the upcoming Ultimate Tennis Showdown exhibition double match in New York this weekend. Having followed his career closely over the years, I can’t wait to witness firsthand the unique format of this event and the dynamic energy that Kyrgios brings to every match he plays. This collaboration promises to be an unforgettable experience for both myself and the fans who will be in attendance. I’m eagerly counting down the days until the showdown begins!
