The Ark season 2, episode 5 review, “Museum of Death”: Who is on Ark-3?
As a long-time fan of The Ark, I must say that the latest episode, “Museum of Death,” has left me utterly captivated and on the edge of my seat. The intricate plotlines, the emotional depth, and the suspenseful tension have all come together to create an enthralling viewing experience.
In the latest installment of “The Ark” titled “Museum of Death”, we find ourselves continuing the storyline from where it ended in the last episode. But which character managed to reach Ark-3 ahead of Ark-1? The mystery remains unsolved.
Caution: This post contains SPOILERS for The Ark season 2, episode 5, “Museum of Death”
In this episode, the story stands alone yet effectively complements the series, as demonstrated in “Museum of Death.” Here, the team needs to implement their initial strategy for Ark-1 to utilize components from Ark-3 to fix its own issues. However, they’ve got an extra challenge: dealing with whoever is already on board Ark-3. While we anticipate they’ll manage the predicament somehow, “Museum of Death” adds a fresh spin to their problem-solving methods.
The crew finds an Eastern Federation ship in The Ark season 2, episode 5, “Museum of Death”
As a gamer, I must admit, William Trust’s air of superiority can be grating at times. But hey, there’s no denying he drops some valuable intel every now and then. In this latest mission, he spilled the beans about the shuttle that docked at Ark-3; turns out, it was one from the Eastern Federation.
In various discussions, including our last broadcast, the Eastern Federation has been brought up. It’s worth noting that there was a significant conflict between the Eastern Federation and Kimi, a fact that seems deeply personal to her. Given this background, it’s likely that this will lead to complications as we move forward with the information at hand.
Garnet and their team must determine if a large number of Eastern Federation soldiers are on Ark-3. All Alicia can retrieve are sporadic images because the ship’s technology was damaged by Ark-15 during the first season. These images show numerous individuals surrounding the spaceship, giving the impression that they might be an army.
It seems there’s a deception here – what appears to be an army of Ark-3 members is actually just their bodies strategically positioned around the vessel. While examining her surroundings, Garnet encounters someone who doesn’t appear to be among the deceased. This individual makes a hasty escape but is eventually cornered.
It appears that the man is Eva’s brother. He had sought help from the Eastern Federation, as he believed she was aboard one of the first three Arks. Unfortunately, the Federation stranded him on Ark-3, leaving him alone for an extended period. This confinement drove him a bit mad, which is understandable given the impact isolation can have on individuals.
Eventually, Ark-1 successfully detaches the front section of Ark-3 and attaches it to their vessel. There are some tense instances along the way, but regrettably, Eva’s brother fails to return to Ark-3 during the process and does not survive. Yet, with this tragedy, the quest for a new home on Ark-1 once again becomes the central plotline as we approach the midpoint of the season.
Eva’s secrets threaten to come out in The Ark
The team aboard the Ark-1 successfully transported Eva’s sibling to their station, offering a potential chance for treatment. Yet, it seems that he has slipped into delusion, leaving Eva with slim hopes of recovering her brother. All he insists on is returning to his “spouse” and “acquaintances” in Ark-3. He even menaces Eva, vowing to reveal her secrets if she refuses to grant him passage.
All this is done in Serbian, which nobody but Jelena can understand. Kimi is keeping a close eye on everyone and she wants the gossip from Jelena. What were Eva and her brother talking about in Serbian? Jelena doesn’t say anything to Kimi, but she does turn to Strickland later on in the episode with questions about whether she should share things that she has heard. Strickland only wants to know something if it will affect the crew, and it seems like Jelena doesn’t think that it will. This was about Eva after all, and they’ve all come to trust Eva.
As a follower of the series, it seems like Eva may have had ties with the Eastern Federation at one point. Could it be that Kimi suffered a loss during that conflict, perhaps someone dear to her? The way Spencer responded when he found out an Eastern Federation ship was involved really showcased his desire for retribution over his father’s death. He openly expresses this desire, and Garnet manages to calm him down. However, Kimi is keeping quiet about her feelings, which might indicate she intends to take revenge, potentially putting Eva in danger.
At this moment, it’s tough to decide who’s reliable. I’m inclined to trust Eva, but her suspicious act of erasing her record from the system at the end of the episode is worrying, especially since that record contained six criminal convictions. Could she be an Eastern Federation spy planted on Ark-1? As for Jelena, what will her reaction be when Brice uncovers the complete truth? His response could be intriguing.
Poor Angus feels like he’s not needed in The Ark season 2, episode 5, “Museum of Death”
Back on my feet again, I find myself striding towards my own patch of earth – my garden. Time has passed while I was away and it’s bloomed beyond recognition, untouched by any hand from Ark-15. Quite odd, really, that none here seem aware of Angus or the labors poured into this place. Seems like Ark-1 should have filled them in on my little project.
Beyond that, the woman hailing from Ark-15 swiftly discredits his irrigation system. She mentions it was lopsided and claims she rectified the issue. There’s no insight into the methods used, nor any praise for his impressive feat of constructing something out of nothing in season one. Angus overcame a significant challenge for the Ark-1 crew in the first season, and her offhand dismissal in Ark-15 leaves me feeling empathy for him.
It’s highly probable that this situation will impact Angus significantly. There’s a chance he may recall Maddox’s accusation about him being inefficient with resources. Given that people might not observe how he’s managing his recovery, I speculate that he might lean on Kelly, as she seems to be the only one who shares a similar sense of alienation.
As for Kelly, this episode delves deeper into her father’s past. Accompanied by him to shield her from Maddox, her dad became a victim when Maddox tainted him. Learning about it from Trust doesn’t shock me, given my mother’s reprehensible actions. I’m saddened but not surprised. Yet, she isn’t entirely the villain as initially portrayed. Her struggle to discern who can be trusted hints at a potential bond forming between her and Angus – perhaps two lost souls finding solace in each other.
In summary, this episode was fantastic, offering a blend of feelings, mystery, and suspense. It’s evident that friction could erupt among various members of the recently formed Ark-1 team. It seems crucial to keep an eye on Kimi, as she might pose the greatest danger to everyone, particularly if she harbors a personal grievance.
