Tom Pellereau, the winner of The Apprentice, and Lord Alan Sugar have ended their 14-year business partnership.
As a lifestyle expert, I remember watching the show back in 2011 when this entrepreneur made history! He was the very first candidate to win Lord Sugar’s backing and become a business partner. He really impressed not only Lord Sugar, but also the judges Baroness Karren Brady and Nick Hewer – a fantastic achievement!
Tom teamed up with a successful businessperson to create StylPro, a company that combines technology and beauty.
Lord Sugar, 87, has confirmed that Tom has now fully bought out his share of the business. Lord Sugar originally invested £250,000 for a 50% stake, but Tom’s purchase means the company is now entirely owned by its founder.
The founder of Amstrad has publicly commended their successful collaboration with Tom. In a statement, he announced he’s agreed to sell his shares back to Tom, giving Tom complete ownership of the business after a 14-year investment.
I first met Tom when he was a hopeful inventor, full of ideas and energy, but he really needed assistance with the business side of things.

He successfully created a rapidly growing beauty-tech brand in the UK. Now is the ideal moment for him to step down and let Tom and his team lead the company’s future growth.
Tom, who runs a business selling high-tech beauty devices like LED face masks – available in the UK, US, Europe, and Australia – publicly thanked Lord Sugar for his valuable advice and support.
He expressed deep gratitude for Lord Sugar’s investment and for believing in both him and his ideas.
‘His time, knowledge and guidance have been invaluable.
I’m ready to fully own my business again, and I’m incredibly grateful for the wonderful 14 years we’ve shared together. I’ll always cherish the memories we’ve made.
The iconic show started in 2005, and Tom was Lord Sugar’s initial business partner. In those early seasons, the prize for winning wasn’t investment in the winner’s own company; instead, it was a £100,000-a-year job working for Lord Sugar.
Tom has said that his partnership with Lord Sugar has had its share of challenges and successes.
In a 2024 interview with The Sun, Tom explained that someone had always pushed him to achieve great things, often in a critical and demanding way – like a strict headmaster.

People have commented that he seems to like me, but it’s often not obvious. We’ve definitely had our good times and bad times, though.
In February, Daily Mail took a look at where the 18 winners of the BBC show are now.
The show first aired in 2005 and quickly became known for showcasing talented young entrepreneurs competing for a job with Sir Alan Sugar.
Over time, the show has shifted towards a reality TV format, featuring confident individuals boastfully showcasing their business abilities.
In 2011, the show switched its prize from a cash reward to an investment in the winner’s business.
Several contestants have achieved significant financial success, becoming entrepreneurs with thriving businesses. This group includes Tom, Ricky Martin, Mark Wright, Sara Lynn, Sian Gabbidon, and Carina Lepore.
