The Amazing Race Australia host Beau Ryan breaks silence on Ant and Dan Middleton’s shock exit from the show

Beau Ryan, the presenter of The Amazing Race Australia, has finally spoken out regarding Ant and Dan Middleton’s unexpected departure from the show this week.

In the opening scene of Tuesday’s broadcast, it was disclosed by Beau (through narration) that the duo were eliminated from the show due to violating the code of ethics.

According to Luke and ‘Sassy’ Scott O’Halloran, fellow contestants, it was claimed at a later time that Dan used homophobic insults towards the TikTok stars.

As a devoted follower, I’m sharing my thoughts about an event that unfolded during the Triple M Breakfast show with hosts Beau, Cat, and Woodsy on Wednesday. Though the incident shook us all, I can’t help but express my satisfaction over the swift action taken by the production team in response.

‘It was a curveball for everyone involved, but it was handled very quickly,’ Beau said on air.

‘These individuals had only spent two or three nights together. Essentially, they had just recently gotten acquainted with one another.’

At the beginning of this year, upon my return, I made it clear that I couldn’t provide insight into past events because I wasn’t present. However, it’s worth noting that Network Ten, Paramount, and Eureka Productions moved quickly in response to the situation.

Beau mentioned that, given he wasn’t there when the incident occurred, he couldn’t provide specifics. However, he did share that he later spoke with both Ant and Dan about it.

Beau felt sympathy for Ant, who was also not present at the time of the incident.

I felt disheartened, not just due to the recent occurrence, but mainly because my racing journey had come to an end.

In such challenging scenarios, I always prioritize the health and happiness of those directly impacted – in this case, Luke and Scott. As a lifestyle expert, it’s crucial to ensure everyone’s well-being takes center stage, no matter what the situation may be.

He said that the shock exit had also put the remaining competitors ‘on notice.’

Following that incident, it served as a clear warning – primarily indicating the importance of prioritizing mutual care, and secondly, underscoring that it was not a leisure trip, he emphasized.

‘People are competing. People are representing themselves, their families, their charities.’

As a lifestyle guide, I share insights based on various experiences, and recently, I found myself reflecting on an incident that took place with my colleagues, Luke and Scott, while they were filming abroad in Nepal. During one of their days off, it seems they encountered some unexpected challenges at their hotel, which undoubtedly added a twist to their adventure.

According to them, Dan Middleton came up to us on no less than six occasions, making comments and actions that they deemed as homophobic, offensive, threatening, and unsettling, as they shared with Sydney Confidential.

Each visit from Dan seemed to grow progressively more confrontational in nature.

At a certain moment, he was very close to us, with several other actors nearby. To us, it appeared that they felt just as uneasy as we did.

According to the O’Hallorans, AFL star Brendan Fevola tried to de-escalate the situation by physically intervening between the social media personalities and Dan.

‘He did [that] more than once,’ they said.

Reports of the incident first emerged in April.

Ant Middleton, it is understood, was not involved but was disqualified along with his brother.

In that moment, it’s said that Brendan presented a tough decision to the producers: either dismiss the Middleton brothers, or he along with his daughter Leni would leave.

Ant and Dan were sent home and cut from the series shortly after.

According to Network Ten’s announcement, a team was found to have violated the rules of proper behavior within the show.

Regarding the contestants’ health, safety, and overall wellness, Network 10 is committed to being thorough,” a representative stated.

During the filming of The Amazing Race Australia, one competitor violated the show’s code of conduct off-set. As a result, the entire team was promptly disqualified and asked to leave immediately.
