Dexter: Original Sin on Paramount+

Premieres Friday, Dec. 13, 2024

Regardless of your feelings towards the initial Dexter show, one thing prequels offer is quite fascinating. They delve into the past lives of characters we encounter in their maturity. So even if you’re new to the Dexter universe, don’t fret. You can still immerse yourself in it. The series Dexter: Original Sin launches on Paramount+ on December 13, 2024.

Beginning December 15, 2024, a fresh episode from our ten-episode season will be aired weekly, culminating in the grand finale in February 2025. Alternatively, you can tune in every Sunday night to catch the new episodes on Showtime.

The series is based in the ’90s and follows Dexter, fresh out of college, juggling two major roles: a new position at the police station and a secret life as a serial killer. His desire to kill has become uncontrollable, so his stepfather Harry assists him in devising a system to identify and eliminate individuals who supposedly should be removed from society, according to the plot summary. Laid on Peacock

Premieres Thursday, Dec. 19

In the fresh comedy series called Laid, there seems to be a significant event revolving around the character Ruby, and it’s quite distressing. According to the summary, every romantic partner she has had meets an untimely death in an unusual manner. This dark comedy follows Ruby as she investigates this mystery and attempts to warn those who are still alive about potential danger they may face, with her best friend AJ by her side.

As a devoted viewer, I can’t contain my excitement as I eagerly anticipate the debut of “Laid,” premiering this coming Thursday, Dec. 19, with all episodes available on Peacock. The holiday season calls for some quality binge-watching, and this intriguingly dark yet comical series is exactly what we’ve been waiting for to add a touch of humor to our festive celebrations. Stephanie Hsu, as Ruby, and Zosia Mamet, as AJ, promise an unforgettable journey that I simply can’t wait to embark on!

Squid Game season 2 on Netflix

Premieres Thursday, Dec. 26

Among all the shows on this list set to air in December 2024, I can’t wait for the return of Squid Game! The suspense this show creates is unmatched, leaving us breathless at times. It’s a testament to its quality that the storyline and characters are so compellingly written.

The long-awaited second season of “Squid Game” is set to debut on Netflix on December 26th. In this new installment, Seong Gi-hun (also known as Player 456) returns to the dangerous competition in an attempt to put a stop to it from within. However, the teaser trailer suggests that this task may be more challenging than he initially thought, not just because of the Front Man, but also due to the other contestants who are eager to participate in the deadly game for the opportunity to claim the massive prize. I’m simultaneously anxious and thrilled about it!
